Seme, Frio, is a famous author called Edmund Black(?) but hides his real identity. He is estranged from his family after coming out. He is a good citizen and lives a normal life. Uke, Angel, has a very overbearing mother (as his father left them alone) who is a devout Christian and disapproves of him painting his nails black. At night, Angel sneaks out to work as a bartender dressed in clothes his mother would not approve of, with the help of his neighbour and friend Lucy. Angel and Frío fall for each other and meet up. Frio writes the heroine in one of his books with Angel as inspiration.
