Ai to Hanaji
Reread: THIS WAS SO CUTE!!! I really loved both of the stories, the couples were adorable and the communication was nice, what a lovely read... The art is very nice and the characters are endearing, I wish there was more content for them! Reread count: 1
Neon Sign Amber
Reread: This was really good! The art was lovely, I enjoyed the development of the characters' relationship a lot, and the way they portrayed the seme's experience with his sexuality was really interesting. Plus the dynamic of "guy who's expressions don't show on his face" x "guy who can read his expressions anyways" is so cute... Ough Reread count: 1
Okubyoumono Ni I Love You
Reread: This was cute! Definitely an enjoyable read, the characters were endearing and the concept was interesting but simple. The seme reads as aroace spec to me and as an aroace spec person myself I always love when characters in media I consume come off that way to me. Anyways the development of the relationship was nice but felt a little rushed, although since it's a single volume I don't fault it too hard for that Reread count: 1
Ookami-kun wa kowakunai
Reread: while I did find this to be cute, it wasn't as enjoyable as I initially remembered it being. While I do enjoy the couple and think that their development was nice, I also have mixed feelings about parts of it, especially when it comes to the carnivore/herbivore dynamic in the world. I've never been a fan of the idea that the more "dominant" group is known to prey on and be unable to control their urges when it comes to the more "submissive" group, it's always read as a little gross to me and excusing bad behavior? There are definitely cases where it's done well, and I don't think this was a poorly done case by any means, it just wasn't the best Reread count: 1
Dear Signal
Reread: this was cute! I like the concept and think it's unique, the art is pretty, and the couple was nice to follow. It's worth the read Reread count: 1
Affectionately
Reread: I had high hopes for rereading this because I remember really enjoying it but it was just so painfully mid. The art is lovely and tbh that's where my praises stop, I think the story was mediocre at best, bad at worst, and the characters were just bland and not that enjoyable. I feel like the uke is too woobified and in a BAD way where it just comes off as annoying at some point? Not to mention the other characters, jesus christ dude. The seme's brother is a piece of shit, he was so gross towards the uke, I don't care if you like him and liked him before your brother, you don't JERK OFF OVER HIM WHILE HE'S SLEEPING??? Overall very much don't recommend this one, read something else, your time is better spent elsewhere Reread count: 1
Encirclement Love
Reread: this is technically a reread even though I barely remembered it existed until I stumbled across it again, but it was alright! I enjoyed the focus couple more than anything, the other couple isn't bad but the fact that they just like.. had sex in front of the mc is weird, don't do that maybe?? Other than that there's a minor issue with consent, but it's not egregious imo Reread count: 1
Welcome to the Yaoi Research Club
Reread/DNF: I really wish I hadn't decided to reread this because this is actively one of the worst things I've ever read, I dropped it so quick. First of all, just straight up extreme dubcon and blackmail right off the bat at the hands of people who are claiming to be the mc's friends. Like listen, if things had been properly disclosed and he agreed, I wouldn't have a problem. But the fact that they forced him into this situation knowing he was desperate for money is extra fucking gross to me. Not to mention the way the characters talk about yaoi is kind of. Really awful to me. It comes off as implying that queer men only exist in fiction for the viewing pleasure of straight women, and wow is that an AWFUL thing to imply. It's really trying too hard to be funny while actively featuring SA and really gross implications about the author's view on queer men. Don't read this, there are so many better things that you could be reading. Reread count: 1 and never again
Akai Ito No Shikkou Yuuyo
Reread: I enjoyed this! I think the characters were very interesting and their development was nice, the seme wasn't forceful or pushy at all and I really liked that the red string wasn't the driving force behind feelings in the end. Honestly I also really appreciate that they went through with cutting the string to really show that it wasn't what was making the uke fall for the seme, genuinely a nice read Reread count: 1
