Jukkakukan no Satsujin
To start off, I find it funny how the one who my first impression was "that's a face of a killer" turns out to be the actual killer lol At first, I was pleasantly surprised when the cast was introduced Sherlock Holmes' author was not among them like wow a mystery genre without Conan Doyle referenced? owo and the seemingly mc was Ellery Queen but ofc that was a faulty conclusion and ofc Conan Doyle is THE actual mc and a girl smh tbh I am not fond of the Akira girl and was not all that interested in the mainland story part though now I now why it's important... All in all, personally I hate the ending, such a waste of efforts, lives and emotions. However, looking at it objectively, it was a real good read and the twist was sth that was at the back of my mind but never really thought it could be pulled off hahaa I was convinced with Ellery's deductions and I guess I was hoping there was another way out but alas Honestly... It really was all just a waste (in the story). I still felt bitter about the end since the evil triumph the good and eventhough it was all horrible, horrible mistakes, justice was only implied at the end. Had it shown the killer faced some sort retribution (I mean considering the crimes committed it's probably life sentence), I probably would've been a bit satisfied... Even the regretting part was a bit too fast paced and brushed off for my taste... I guess I'm just angry that innocent lives were taken and then the motive turned out to be useless : (
