The Return of the 8th Class Magician
Chap 76 I've been reading this since day one, and still kick myself at how much I love and hate the cliffhangers. To add on, the new chapters have suddenly gave us endgame? I never really envisioned Ian with anyone but the family scene was so cute! Love where this is going, but it feels like the uptick of an arc before the end. Bittersweet, but I can't wait to see what happens! Reading this has been such a wonderful journey- not that I can say the same for the weeks in between haha, so I'm hoping this journey has a good ending. Edit (as of after chap. 76): It's not hard to sense that this particular story is coming to an end. The confrontation with Ragnar, the literal image of a closing book and Ian's words that 'this part is over' etc, and I find myself wanting. I find myself wanting to know what Ragnar was going to say, perhaps elongate their last moments together. Ian's death garnered so much 'screentime' (pagetime? Words?) -and yes, he's the protagonist, but to have the major end all be all antagonist get so little for his death felt wrong to me. I'll still be reading this manwha till the end, will still hope to lose myself in the story as it comes to an end, but I can't help but think I would have enjoyed it a little more if Ragnar's death was given more impact, instead of quickly being brushed off to complete the exposition on Ian's relationship with the princess. Hoping the next chapters magically do so? But mostly hoping I can find the novel to see if the manwha perhaps left some plot out, as manwha adaptations tend to do.
