Dear Villainous Husband , the One to be Obsessed with is Over There

Ongoing | | 2022 released

I'm not sure about this one. It's another comic that was half-assed after qriting down rough details from the novel. The art itself is VERY inconsistent and wonky too, but the plot has parts missing, jump-cuts randomly or simply leaves out stuff 'just cause'. The dynamic and baseplot are VERY nice, but the shitty writing, equally as shitty translations and the shittily written plot points the creators wanted in the comic while ignoring others just makes this uninteresting. Not boring or annoying, just uninteresting since you cannot get immersed in the story. It's rushed, half-assed and mediocre. But I'm convinced the novel is likely amazing, so maybe I'll check that one out someday. 3 outta 10 but ONLY because the baseplot and character dynamics are interesting, there is nothing else that makes this good.

I Ended Up Raising the Children of the Female Lead and Male Lead

Ongoing | | 2022 released

Somewhat of a review, no spoilers tho. It's honestly sad that despite the detailed review of the male leads past, people still don't understand how heavily damaged he is and how normal his behavior actually is. :'D I can only say: Do not blame him. people do not magically grow out of their trauma (I mean ACTUAL trauma, not the self-diagnozed, social media kind btw). It takes AGES to fix these kinda issues, with help of a professional, which this man clearly never had. So his behavior is very realistic as these kinda people will learn to copy but do not comprehend. And if you haven't learned something, naturally you cannot just do it. Sadly the author doesn't put this all to use as well as it could be. After revealing his past there is barely any learning to be had, which is needed for these characters to work well in a story. Then again, the story has some big issues with random scene jumps and chapters feeling disconnected to the point of it feeling like there is a missing chapter inbetween each upload (which bothers me ALOT btw). I like the base plot but the results of this comic are a bit on the weak side for me. The immersion isn't quite there, the story is too rushed and feels like a rough draft being turned into a comic and the story is (for me) a tad bit too common and predictable. The translations are fine but sometimes I think there were things wrongly translated and do not make much sense the way they are written. But it's not too much of a problem really. It's an okay read I'd say, but if you've read a good hundred high quality comics it might be more in the average to low tiers in terms of writing and art alike (art isn't bad, but sometimes inconsistent with anatomy). Give it a try but I'm not interested enough to keep reading and I wouldn't recommend it either. Just not up to my standards, but maybe you can have a good time with it! Have fun~

Big Apple

Complete | Harusari,Hodot | 2019 released

This story has a good base plot idea but the results of this comic are messy, weird and random at times. It could have been SO much better if they had focused on better writing and putting in details and made an effort to create more of a mood here and there. The plot was honestly a mess from early on. There was hinting and foreshadowing for a lukewarm reward that was unspecial, lots of smut (not that I'm complaining about that) that seemed to be focused instead of the actual story that was pretending to be grand and important (they legit skipped telling the story for a few chapters early on just to insert more bonking, that felt off and broke immersion tbh). Many times the plot feels like it both rushes and drags at the same time, which is impressive in and of itself I gotta say, but there is also moments when the plot gets very...weird? Like the comic is skipping explainations or details or just entirely does a 180 and goes into a different direction that makes little sense and just feels plain random. It's not bad, but it's not good either. The art is great, the characters interesting (tho some are behaving dumb in many moments) and the plot IDEA is great but ultimately turned out boring. I am not sure if the novel is equally as messy and/or bad in writing but I'd say chances are high it's much better than the comic. Given that the flaws I recognize are mostly with character behavior being dumb and the writing being random, weird or boring, I'd say this story can be amazing for less experienced readers but will be a disappointment potentially for more experienced readers that value good writing and storytelling. Give it a try, but be warned that it's not grandiose as it first pretends to become.

Here Reigns the Vengeful Villainess

Ongoing | Gijya,Sajangnim | 2022 released

The writing of this story really isn't great in the comic. Too many repeated tactics within 5 chapters already and many Mary Sue-ish/MacGuyver moments that make it feel like a teenager's fanatasy plot that hasn't been thought out well/in detail. Does someone know if the novel is better by chance? The base story is super interesting, but the repeat issues even so early on make it really a bit hard to take it serious and get immersed.

The Tosa's Master

Complete | Evy | 2022 released

People: Gather your gasmasks immediately! Someone's burning the toxic garbage in industrial size here. XD Holy shit was this fvcked seven days till sunday and back. And people honestly keep mentioning JJ from Jinx when it's about toxic people, meanwhile this shit happily exists in our universe. JJ is a true sweet gentleman compared to this mofo. Not sure if I should laugh or cry about this realization. I have little to complain, it WAS announcing itself big and heavy as toxic right from the start, but I think it's just a bit bland in terms of the characters just not being appealing in any way except physically thanks to the art. I like my toxic garbage with at least a tiny flavour of redeemable qualities, but oh well. If people like fvcked up shit, this is probably one of the go-to smuts I guess.

The Hunter's one night

Complete | Dugo | 2022 released

Sadly, this isn't my thing, I prefer coherrent and well written stories instead of weird randomness. But I suppose whoever is looking for wanking material can probably like this. The story had potential at it's very rough core, but it got ruined by half-assing and rushing it just to draw dick sucking. The story is weird, jumps to the first 'intimacy' scene at a REALLY weird moment, literally out of nowhere (just like MC magically being in love) and there is likely much more to add to the list. So I'm dropping this after sadly only 5 chapters. The characters are bland and not well introduced or worked out, the brother is really dislikable, their emotions are not portrayed but just randomly told/reveal/acted upon and I see really nothing of interest to me that would overshadow those problems in the story. This feels like yet another author that wanted to draw bonking with minimal story to it and somehow, nilly-willy, tried to string it together so it can be made into a comic. This would have been better off with either ALOT of work put into the plot/writing OR simply leaving it at regular smut without a story.

Traces of the Moon

Ongoing | Yunsul | 2022 released

Honestly this Mary Sue type writing is really not great. Bad even. Their first meeting is idiotic on both parts, her having money and a lockpick on herself is nonsensical (unless a literal child wrote this plot) and there is so much more that just screams not-thought-through and half-assed writing. Which is a shame, since the baseplot IS very interesting but the writing being what it is completely ruins it if you're someone with reading and writing experience and want a well-written story. The characters are bland in some ways, but not entirely. Which is strange and makes me feel there COULD have been good writing in all aspects, the person behind this just didn't put in the effort to accomplish that. All in all it feels like a plot a teenager wrote. But not in a funny-good way. To other teenagers this might not be a problem or even great, but to a more experienced audience this will entirely fall flat and make it a boring or even bad read. Again, this depends on experience in reading/writing, so check it out for yourself if you don't know what type of 'level' you have. It's a shame to me since I adore southern-themed plots, but I'll not continue reading this due to all the issues I find with it.
