Stigma (Doo Down)
Just another Omegaverse story that excuses the heat/rut dynamic to justify rape or make it more acceptable. Which is really laughable considering the author mentioned 'its against the law to bonk if one of the people does not consent' and then immediately proceeds to show just how little the Male Lead gives a shit. Both characters aren't really introduced in a way that make them emotionally connected to me. Especially the male lead is simply displayed as a 'cool dude' with a shitty personality. I guess there's plenty people who like that and I too do like those plots, but not with this constant, smut-dumbfvck logic of using heat/rut as an excuse to get away with what is nothing else than a mix of 'drugged up rape meets mind control'. It's just not enjoyable unless you have your dick out already and stuble upon the smut scenes maybe. As fap material this is surely fine for many, as a self-insert I can totally see that. But as a story in general? Really not. The art is ok but the artist has some issue they need to fix with their wonky anatomy at times. The writing is just as trashy as one can expect from smut-Omegaverse so I'll not bother saying anything more. This is really boring and predictable to me, we've seen this at least 10 times before in other comics. In EXACTLY the same way too. There's nothing new here and the personality of the ML is just a major ick factor (to put it nicely) that makes me loose all interest. Give it a go, but be warned that this is just nothing special in any way. Not my thing, so I'll look for something more original and pleasant to read instead.
The Tosa's Master
People: Gather your gasmasks immediately! Someone's burning the toxic garbage in industrial size here. XD Holy shit was this fvcked seven days till sunday and back. And people honestly keep mentioning JJ from Jinx when it's about toxic people, meanwhile this shit happily exists in our universe. JJ is a true sweet gentleman compared to this mofo. Not sure if I should laugh or cry about this realization. I have little to complain, it WAS announcing itself big and heavy as toxic right from the start, but I think it's just a bit bland in terms of the characters just not being appealing in any way except physically thanks to the art. I like my toxic garbage with at least a tiny flavour of redeemable qualities, but oh well. If people like fvcked up shit, this is probably one of the go-to smuts I guess.
Mated To The Ruthless Alpha
Really not into this due to the art and partially the story. The art is horribly inconsistent and the story has a slight hint of r/im14andthisisdeep, if you know what I mean. XD It's not bad and surely people who do NOT at all care about art will find this a good read, but the art itself already makes it not enjoyable to me and the story isn't really worth putting up with the visual annoyance tbh. Check it out for yourself, but I find nothing of interest here. IF this is based on a novel, I would suggest reading that instead.
Traces of the Moon
Honestly this Mary Sue type writing is really not great. Bad even. Their first meeting is idiotic on both parts, her having money and a lockpick on herself is nonsensical (unless a literal child wrote this plot) and there is so much more that just screams not-thought-through and half-assed writing. Which is a shame, since the baseplot IS very interesting but the writing being what it is completely ruins it if you're someone with reading and writing experience and want a well-written story. The characters are bland in some ways, but not entirely. Which is strange and makes me feel there COULD have been good writing in all aspects, the person behind this just didn't put in the effort to accomplish that. All in all it feels like a plot a teenager wrote. But not in a funny-good way. To other teenagers this might not be a problem or even great, but to a more experienced audience this will entirely fall flat and make it a boring or even bad read. Again, this depends on experience in reading/writing, so check it out for yourself if you don't know what type of 'level' you have. It's a shame to me since I adore southern-themed plots, but I'll not continue reading this due to all the issues I find with it.
The World Without My Sister Who Everyone Loved
Alright, hear me out. Lemme cook, it's hot now but we'll cool down. :v (Critique ahead, so beware.) The base story is very interesting, the art is decent and the characters around the MC intriguing (although a bit too shallow in personality). The MC however, is what ruins this story. And that is an absolute dealbreaker. I like me some drama but the already way too obnoxious trope of hating people that have not done ANYTHING WRONG to you in a re-run is just getting on my nerves SO very much. Don't get me wrong, this trope CAN work, if written in a good way, but this is definitely NOT it. She's not careful and pessimistic due to trauma, she's behaving like what someone who THINKS they know how trauma works would write a character. The way the author portrays her makes her more annoying, dumb and weird instead of a damaged person that has to deal with trauma and tries to adjust to current happenings. The author HAS made her realize very early on that things have changed, she acknowledged that!, yet on the very next page she ignores it and acts like that realization never happened. This is a HUGE fault when writing a traumatized character, because that realization would have a big impact and remain in memory. It would make her at least second guess each action from others and make her at least think about it having a positive aspect. But what annoyed me the most so far (16 chapters in) is this: She pretends her references and ideas of a situation are reality and treats them as a fact. In some sense it is similar to how trauma can work (in a VERY vague way), but not how it's done in this story and the different moments. I have endured 16 chapters of her obnoxious attititude and while i was very understanding at first, this got obnoxious VERY quick and downright stupid. I mean, the fvck you talking about 'horrifying ceremony'?? HE GAVE YOU A FRUIT FFS. X'D The only thing barbaric and horrifying was your idea of pretending the red juice was blood and wolves tear prey apart and eat together. Stop acting like that's the same. Your analogies are NOT reality. This is NOT Twitter. Please stop this nonsense, dear author. At this point it is NOT the other characters that are in the wrong, IT IS ONLY HER. And I doubt it'll change in a realistic, normal manner based on the bad writing. The author is continuously re-chewing the past only when it fits to make her seem more miserable, justify her attitude or make the other people (who are ALL nice to her btw!) look horrible despite that not being in relation to the current reality. This already gives me Mary Sue vibes and Mary Sue's are NOT good characters despite 3rd wave feminists thinking otherwise. X'D The writing is horrible tbh. It runs the path of using happenstances from the past to be anything inbetween pitiful towards oneself up to being an obnoxious idiot or rude towards others even. Which is NOT the way to go. It does not make your character likable at all. And it will not make people want to read more about this character. I'm sorry, but THIS is not how you use this trope. THIS is precisely why people learned to hate it. And the misplaced, seemingly random, funny chibi haha panels do NOT help this entire mess. It makes it seem even more like the author doesn't know what they are doing. Which I hope changes in the future. Improving their writing skills is very much needed at this stage. To sum it up; the author failed majestically at making the MC likable and despite her acknowledging current life being different. It feels really more like the author simply THINKS this is what traumatized people are like (like people on Twitter and TikTok always do) instead of researching the nuances needed to make each negative reaction actually realistic, plausible and relatable/understandable. The author should research some more about how to alter these kinda characters to make them understandable and likable. This is KEY to fictional works. Sadly this one missed the mark. It's likely a good read for younger/less experienced readers, but seasoned readers should probably stay away from this one. The story seems to have changed in chapter 44, but I do not know if it was done in a good way. Not sure if I'll bother reading more tbh, nothing in this story is appealing tbh.
