The Golden Wife-in-Law

Ongoing | Juki , Boss | 2024 released

Okay, yeah, but no. The baseplot of marrying a noble to an un-alived lady was VERY nice, but this quickly got ruined by literally everything else such as: The male lead has literally zero pleasant qualities about him. The female lead is just not pleasant either and the way too long dragging of the family circumstances from both of them were not well done either since the certain level of hook-factor was just missing in every way. The art cannot carry this either, it's mid at best. So I really see no reason to read more of this. I do not care for the politics, not for the ML or the FL or even just the art. Even the names are forgettable, boring and overused. How many Calix'es have we had in these stories so far? Can people PLEASE be more creative with names. Hell, even calling him Steve would be more original at this point. WTF. XD This might be nicer for younger, preferably constant-horny readers with less of a focus on good storytelling, high tier art and interesting characters tho. So the smut can probably carry it for some unexperienced readers. For advanced readers; there's nothing of worth here except the new idea of marrying an unwanted noble to a non-alive person. THAT was the only interesting aspect here. And I hope this plotbase gets used by a better author and gets turned into a comic with (hopefully good art) and effort put into character personalities and likability. Among many other things. It's not a good story in any way except the bare base, so I would not ever recommend this. Maybe the smut is good to get your rocks off, but I will NOT bother waiting for those chapters to show up. This is a chore to read.

After Staring at the Starry Sky

Complete | Kida bisco | 2019 released

This is a review, so be warned to click away if you cannot stand critique: As adorable as this is and as lovely as the base story is; the writing isn't good. Feelings do not seem to settle or come to be as well as they should and the absolutely random and sudden shift from antsy fanboy to suddenly kissing and being on the same page as if they had been together for a while now was WAY too weird. It felt like a rough draft of a teenager's story that someone randomly serialized. I could ignore the aspect of emotions not being brought forth for the reader unless they have not much experience with how it works, but the total randomness of them jumping from aquaintances to 'oh yeah, we are both totally into each other' was just bad in every way. It was random, there was ZERO hint at any of this except from the MC and in general it was a weird choice, as if the author had no idea or could simply not be bothered with investing a single chapter into getting to that part. Which was really disappointing. It was a lovely base idea but ruined by the execution being so random and lackluster. I think it can work as a nice read for people who have not much experience with writing or have in mind that they already know each other (just skip chapter 1, then it somewhat works tbh). But for experienced readers who care for good writing and realism in how people interact/react or become lovers; this is just gonna disappoint. I wouldn't recommend this but I do hope the author creates better stories in the future, maybe even tries to re-do this story. I'd love to see that. :)

ONE DAY A GANGSTER

I am honestly not sure if it's the writing or the translations. Based on the grammar I would actually say it's the writing tho. Things just seem VERY unrealistic in how anything is going here. It would not happen from what i know that an unidentifiable body is shown to a relative, which would be pointless AND mentally scarring. The behavior of the detective is weird and unprofessional, random even. Nothing is explained as to wtf an unregistered individual here even means and and the love interest that appears behaves REALLY really damn stupid and random. Kinda like a 13 year old would imagine a cool mafia dude being like yet only having MOMENTS of him behaving like a literal thug without anything making sense. It's not pleasant to read. And i do NOT mean the translations. They seem decent enough, given we have no major grammar issues that pop out. So it ALL being a mistranslation cannot be the problem, especially since the pictures themselves do simply not make more sense even if we tried to make the text make more sense in our minds. I think I'll wait for the official translations to be shown for one chapter, but I honestly do not think this is a good story.

To My Creepy Boy

Ongoing | Burano,부라노 | 2000 released

I cannot read more than 2 chapters of this. The writing is shitty tbh and VERY random and rushed, the characters weirdos and very dislikable (and I do not mean the 'creep' alone btw). The art is okay but the story is so bad I really have lost all interest there initially was with the description. This is probably a good read for people not looking for sense, rhyme, reason or smooth and coherent writing skills. Or if you're REALLY bored. 1 outta 10 but only barely.

Sono Otoko Yakusha Nitsuki

Ongoing | Sakurai nanako | 2019 released

Okay, no. Review Time, so bail if you don't wanna hear critique. The base plot was interesting (play a salesman to get dirt on an actor) but things quickly turned to shit in just one chapter. And I am not bothering with more of this. If the story had a more comedy-based tone and if there wasn't actual rape with the victim actually being afraid, the 'plottwist' would have been able to be laughed off for the most part. But it's not. It is held in a more realistic, serious tone and hence the happenings are NOT option to shrug off. The tone of the story is more realistic/casual, or empty I should say really, so the fact the MC was actually scared and things still went on really was NOT pleasant. And the sorry and sad attempt of the author just shrugging it off did not work since neither the MC actually got into what was happening to him nor did the rapist actually have a pleasant personality and the MC's so-called friend too did the opposite of what was needed to make any of this acceptable even as a porn-type fantasy read (who is REALLY a piece of shit btw for doing this). The idea was nice, but it was entirely ruined by lack of everything. The art cannot carry this either, it's average and has no panels here and there that actually hook you in a moment at least. Not even the smut scenes are worth more than a glance as there is nothing special about those either. Which could have maybe saved this from getting an entirely negative review. As I said; I will not bother with this past the first chapter. Maybe the writing after that will be decent or good, but if the intro is horseshit that means the rest is also horseshit. Based on seeing much horseshit over the years, I speak from frequent experience. :'D This might be a nice read for people who disregard literally any sort of writing skills but for those that need the story and character behavior to be at least somewhat pleasant: Look elsewhere. I wouldn't bother recommending this, ever. There is literally nothing positive I can find about this except the VERY core plotline. Which I hope someone more talented will copy someday, but oh well. ^^;

Yatamomo

Complete | harada | 2014 released

I really need to remember to check info before just reading when bored. I am getting flashbacks to my early days of fucked up yaoi reading. I should have checked the author name. ╥﹏╥ Now I gotta go look for fluff to cleanse my memory. Which will take years. AGAIN. I just had forgotten most horrors of Harada after these 10 years! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ Anyway, even if this is still a 'happy story' from Harada: Stay away if you cannot stand the following. - Parents pimping out their children - Child R@pe & Prostitution (Christ on a stick, get the holy waterfall for me please) - Shitty parents behaving like trash and not being sorry - General Whores, both bottoms and tops - Regular rape - Prostitution because you have literally nothing else in life - People treating the MC like trash and a fleshlight - Betrayal in various colours of the rainbow - and some more things I am trying to forget already If you're looking to be sad and disgusted as well as mentally scarred: This is for you! :D If you want to keep your sanity: Run. RUN. RUN NOW. And don't you EVER read any other works from this author! There's a good fuckin' reason the term Harada-esque was coined after this author created so many fucked up stories they became the god of the genre and all other creators works were judged by their standards of writing fucked up shit. Spare yourself the years of haunting. I know the writing is good, but that is only to lure you in before you get the hell beaten outta your innocent mind! RUN. Do not become like me, child!!!! (/TДT)/

I’m a Cat, but I Was Adopted by a Wolf Family?

Ongoing | 노찬주,Mihy,윤달 | 2022 released

The writing paired with the art in the start is VERY shitty. With something as heavy as this happening in the start os the story, you have ZERO business drawing cutesy chibi faces unless the mood was supposed to be comedic; which it clearly was NOT. Both the art and writing are low tier. Something teens can enjoy for sure, but noone with any sort of quality standards. Art is just as low effort and below mid tier as the writing. So there is really nothing of interest to me here.

Preventing The making of a Tyrant

Ongoing | 람글 | 2019 released

I'm really TRYING to like this but the further I read, the more this comic seems like swiss cheese, riddled with holes which are either plotholes, MacGuyver moments, Mary Sue moments, amateur-ish writing or a combo of them. The art cannot carry this. The clothes are the typical uggo 'I have no idea what people wore back then except for Barbie dresses I saw' types of clothing. The anatomy is wonky and the heads all have the same shape which make the eyes, mouth , etc. look like they have been glued onto a copy-pasta mask (which is really unpleasant). And the plot gets distracted by itself and ignores itself just to rinse and repeat all the time. This can be a nice read for kids and people who have no idea about good writing or the capability of ignoring it all, but not for anyone else. It's giving 100% "I was 14 when I wrote this, for my 14 year old friend group" vibes and I grew outta that target group long ago. :'D I think I'll be dropping this. The base plot WAS interesting, but not enough to drag it out and keep dealing with side-track type quests the MC encounters literally every other step. Not my thing but for younger readers this could be a good option to start reading these types of shoujo stories that go for longer than 5 chapters and have a more mature-type story focus. Definitely not recommended for mid to experiences readers tho. Sad to leave, the core story was really interesting, but I'll go look for something more up my alley.

The Return of the Ex-Wife

Ongoing | | 2022 released

The character logic of literally anyone in this is so bad that it makes me thing this was written by a literal teenager thinking they know how to write a cool, awesome and intrigue-filled plot. I just can't. It's so hilariously dumb that I'm both crying and laughing at the same time. X'D The art is okay but cannot carry. But the base storyline IS very interesting, which makes the shitty character logic even more of an eyesore. But then there is also the TONS of magical MAcGuyver/Mary Sue-ish moments that make the writing pretty bad. This could have been amazing with better writing, the core of the story is super nice. So I hope someone, someday makes a better copy-cat comic of this storyline. Would be nice. ╥﹏╥
