This is a story of what happens when you live a life of lies. "To thine own heart be true." When one fails to be true to themselves, they hurt everyone around them as well as hurt themselves. Living to please a company or parents or society, when it runs counter to your own heart, is super slow motion suicide. Being true to yourself won't always be the easiest road to take, but, in the end, it's the only right road to take.

This manga felt like it was desperately trying to be deep and meaningful and just ended up tripping and falling on its face.

Dear God! This mangaka is such an incredible storyteller! There's not a frame or word wasted. I'm stunned that this mangaka doesn't have a ton more manga translated here. Seeing as these are about 17 years old and there's not anything recent, I'm concerned that they are not drawing anymore. Which, I have to say, would be such a damned shame. The stories are poignant and written so beautifully, the art is truly stunning and realistic, and the characters are so down to earth it's not hard to imagine bumping into one of them on the street. If this mangaka is no longer producing works I'll be heartbroken. Keeping this kind of talent locked away from the world is just sinful if it's not criminal.
