Life Senjou no Bokura
Dear god, I cried and sobbed so hard I woke up my husband! Akira, you stupid, selfish, coward BAKA!! Yuki handled it well though. A few digs here and there are just what Akira needs after that stunt. This was such a simple and beautiful story. But it does highlight the major problem that gay men face in a society where homosexuality is not generally accepted. The idea of normal should only exist in hard sciences and medicines. The moment human emotions and personalities get involved, there is no such thing as "normal". My other complaint is the use of the phrase "straight to begin with" that is used as an excuse for cowardice. The truth is, if you have the capacity to find the same sex attractive sexually, you were born that way. Homosexuality is NOT something you can turn off and on like a lamp and it isn't a choice. I'm bi and I'm 47, I have known I find both men and women sexually appealing since I was 8. Most homosexuals recognize a "difference" in themselves from "others" (read hetero) around the age of 6 to 8. Obviously they don't find anyone sexually attractive, but they are emotionally drawn to their same sex friends stronger than heteros are. I really wish this tidbit of information could filter into the world of Yaoi mangaka so they can stop using that stupid "straight to begin with" line.
Asa to Mitya
Incredible read. It's a shame the updates are so slow. This story really has the potential for an epic, multivolume tome. The characters are deep and interesting. I really would love to read much, much more of this story.
All Night Long (muno)
This is really a sweet and realistic depiction of first love. Confusing, awkward, painful, yet so unbearably wonderful. Well done sensei, you nailed it on this one.
Hatsujou Eyes
The second story does contain shota, though it's not explicit and there is no intercourse. One character is definitely below the age of consent, but he is portrayed as the aggressor/instigator. If this genre is not your cup of tea, you may want to skip chapter 2... that is unless you like to read that type of story so you can have something to bitch about from your high horse/soapbox.
Baka ni Koi toka Shoujiki Muri ja ne?
Koi wa Nanairo Shichihenge!?
One of the few manga that approach crossdressing with a positive approach and outcome for a male character who is genuinely comfortable as a male in a gay male role vs as a transgender person or more comfortable being viewed as more feminine. Well done. Great writing and beautiful art.
