1. Mainichi Seiten - Shuu as sci-fi writer and his adopted son yuuta get married into Shima Obinata's family, as the brother-in-law(although same age with 2nd son Taiga) he felt responsible to take care of the family(of guys in order of:Taiga, Akinobou, Jou & Mayumi) in place of shima who is currently missing; the family refuse to acknowlegde the Shuu as brother-in-law at first then little by little they start to warm up to them and eventually settle into the family. While they are all starting get used to each other's existence, a sudden news of their sister abandoning them made the Obinata household devastated but through this circumstances that Shuu show his support for the whole Obinata family even in exchange of his health. Just when Shuu was slowly getting accepted into the family, Taiga wants to kick Shuu out of their house and eventually reveals of their past, while trying to resolve the matter the festival day arrived and they made Yuuta and Mayumi go together around the town while meeting some of Mayumi's friends, knowing the dressed up Mayumi which made him popular. Taiga and Shuu follows later, and as they walk around the town, they talk about Yuuta's past and somehow Mayumi got to know Yuuta better and Yuuta see a different side of Mayumi. As the both pair met at the festival, Mayumi asked weird straight questions to Shuu and having a hard time answering to it, Yuuta leave Shuu and Taiga alone to discuss their problems properly but it isn't settled properly yet, the next day akinobou suddenly check upon their family record and found out that Shima and Shuu wasn't really married so Shuu, being expose of the secret run out of the house and Yuuta revealed Shuu's dark past and by really wanting to be part of Obinata's family; upon learning Shuu's circumstances he searched for Shuu and talk to him a bit then Shuu collapsed and after being bought home, Shuu reveals that Shima proposed to Shuu and somehow made Shuu to agree because Shima already knew of Taiga & Shuu's past, Shuu also apologized and made up with everyone while Taiga express his real feelings to Shuu so that they can move on. 2. 1. Mainichi Seiten 2. Kodomo wa Tomaranai - Start of school for the 2 youngest. Upon settling in at school Yuuta observes the people surrounding Mayumi and discovers Mayumi's different side which he observes and realizes that somehow it's unbalanced. Mayumi was still shaken for Taiga slowly getting close with Shuu while feeling somehow leftout. As the school starts, the whole family also switch rooms so Yuuta and Mayumi are now rommates and Yuuta was weirded out of Mayumi's behavior of crawling into Yuuta's bed and/ or having nightmares. One time as they are about to go to school Taiga told Yuuta to take care of Mayumi in case there are bullies due to an injury on Mayumi's elbow and later at school Kamio talks to Yuuta about Mayumi irritates him and doubting the gender of Mayumi but a friend of Mayumi's (from festival) interrupts so Uotatsu talk with Yuuta instead (they somehow clicked) and discusses some of his observations of Kamio and Mayumi somehow warns about Kamio's behavior, that night Yuuta continues to observe Mayumi's behavior and reveals to the family about some of the differences in behavior which Mayumi brushes it aside and the conversation somehow lead to Yuuta's curiosity in Mayumi's hiding his upper part of the body which really bother's him. The next day, while asleep Kamio called Mayumi out so Yuuta followed and as the 2 talked, he witness a Mayumi capable of protecting himself and kept avoiding swimming classes. When they got home Yuuta reveals of Mayumi's skipped swimming class and Taiga became worried because of the scar at Mayumi's back reminding of their past that was his fault; Yuuta frankly tells his observation until it got awful, Taiga went to his room and Shuu followed to comfort him while Taiga reveals a guilt that haunts him. The next day Yuuta hids the bear that Mayumi always hugs("security blanket" Taiga substitute) Mayumi got mad and rushes to school but as they met along the way, Yuuta just teases Mayumi to take of the clothes and he'll be like a partner in crime. One day Kamio challenges Mayumi to attend swimming class but Mayumi just ignore him so he was furious and pulled Mayumi's shirt until it reveals his scar in view of everyone so Mayumi rushes outside and Yuuta threatened Kamio before following him; as he cathes up to Mayumi, he hugs Mayumi and Mayumi burst out crying, as he calmed down he pulled Yuuta to a shrine to reveal the story behind the scar that because Taiga left Mayumi selfishly, he got violated and slashed violently with a knife leaving a scar to Mayumi while guilt nightmare to Taiga, he also reveals his ugly side(somewhat jealousy to Shuu for taking Taiga's pain) but while Yuuta's heard about these things, he comforted Mayumi and accepted all of Mayumi including the ugly side and scars but Taiga interupted them and Mayumi realizes that it might be love so this starts the step-kid's and 5th son's blosoming romance that shaken the Obinata's household. Later on the way to school, Yuuta let Mayumi talk to Kamio to settle things. As the new couple always got interupted by Taiga the couple got pissed of because they aren't doing anything further(lack of trust issues) but Taiga and Shuu later reveals that they just don't want the things happened to both of them also experienced by the younger ones but the younger ones want to prove their different, so Shuu and Taiga just hopes that they won't fall into same situation. 3. Akinobou have hidden insecurity towards his siblings[Taiga only close to Jyou and closest to Mayumi, Jou which Shima only get angry when Aki and Jyou make mischiefs, Mayumi which sticks to Taiga and favored by all siblings and favorite of Shima] he wants to be needed but only sees his uselessness because of his pessimism, he have no confidant inside the house and no one truly notice of his struggles except Ryuu since he was little. Ryuu's notices of Aki when he silently cry alone in their house, since then he comforts Aki throughout the story and gives him a place to "breathe" when there's no place to go. An incident happened makes these two more connected when Aki came from drinking party and got drunk and somehow walk by Ryuu's shop, then when Ryuu saw Aki crying he offered an ear and comforted him like how he usually comforts women accidentally and because of that Aki got sick and Ryuu visits him in their house and told him of a past that he only discovered which is he was born in a clinic by a "quack"(not necessarily quack but due to the doctor's name) doctor unlike the rest of his siblings which makes him question more about his identity as an Obinata. After getting well, Aki encountered Ryuu plenty of times accidentally and help him when he faced danger due to his mind being preoccupied with his something else, Yuuta eventually got some hint of their weird closeness lately and soon Mayumi catches on and discusses it among themselves, meanwhile Taiga since Aki's sickness was extra caring and observant towards Aki so he have few hints of Aki's weird actions lately but decides to support whatever Aki decides. Upon visiting Ryuu, he met a woman a few times who might have been hurt by Ryuu but still don't have the courage to face Ryuu yet and when Ryuu let Aki in, he share his past. Ryuu have a past when he was still in a gang still makes him unable to move on, like he made his girlfriend abort their child, hurt many people around him and when Aki heard about these and he decided to comfort Ryuu by returning the favor of the one who help him to somehow alleviate his pain. Next day upon learning that Ryuu might have done something to Aki thinking he was forced or hurt by Ryuu, Aki's brothers strongly opposed to return to Ryuu's side but he was somehow supported by Yuuta and Shuu eventually Ryuu arrive to clear some misunderstandings, soon the siblings one way or another gave in hesitantly and so Aki & Ryuu decided to start a new life and do something from their feeling of useless. Although not specifically `sequels`, this is the order that the stories were written/published in.
