Family Simulation!!

Complete | Matsuyoshi Aco | 2000 released

1: Asahi, who's taking care of his nephew Masakifor a few months, runs into his old friend (and something more), Nishino, during a grocery run gone slightly wrong. Taking pity on their financial situation, nosy yet kind Nishino buys them groceries and walks them home, inevitably walking back into Asahi's life for good. It's very sweet. And none of the characters were annoying. Not too bad. 4.4 4: Soushi is troubled yet intrigued by the brilliant and perverted Tamaki who is a part of his graduate cell biology lab group. Things come to a gead when he walks in on Tamaki rubbing one off while moaning his name! It was interesting because you rarely see biology refelected so well in yaoi. It's usually silly pseudoscience. Overall plot and characters were light and fun. 4.4

If I Hadn't Fallen in Love With You

Complete | Suji | 2019 released

The new audit manager Misato publicly declares that he hates Nono's (head chef for Chinese cuisine) oily food. Even though he's offended, Nono can't seem to keep away from Misato, who's particularities about food seem to stem from a not-so-good place. Okay, so, two things that I don't think they really have excuses for: Misato being so publicly rude and cold about Nono's cooking in the beginning and Nono pushing Misato away to protect him from the rumours, without giving him any choice or explanations. Aside from that, have to say I actually really like loud, nosy and kind people like Nono. Their energy is too much sometimes, but, damn, does it come from a place of genuine goodness. I think Misato did really well with showing everyone he wasn't embarrassed about his relationship with Nono. I really, really enjoyed that. That is how I would want to be loved. Also really enjoyed Nono being the uke. That was just the cherry on top of what was already a really good manga, with interesting characters and side characters. Wouldn't mind reading about them, too, actually. 4.9

Umibe no Etranger

Complete | Kii Kanna | 2000 released

Shun is an aspiring writer, estranged from his family who couldn't accept his sexuality. He becomes curious about and eventually enamoured with Mio, a lonely orphan, who soon leaves the sleepy island behind for a facility in the mainland (Okinawa). Is there any future for the love budding between them? Gentle, heartfelt, and lovely. And just a little bit lonely. Loved that he was the uke. Because. Well. I wanted Shun to be cherished and taken care of as if he were something precious- because he is. 5

Isshin is in love with Haze, the most capable guy at his work (package delivery service), while their relationship evolves from co-workers, to friends-with-benefits to lovers, Isshin isn't sure how Haze feels about him. It was very, very good. I would have preferred more angst after that job conversation, but I did thoroughly enjoy it, still, for defying my expectations. Haze really went above and beyond, which I didn't expect him to do, given how casual he came across initially. I really loved that Isshin got to swtch back to his actual field of work, that mattered a lot to me. Switching would have been nice, with all that foreshadowing. 4.8

Ashita Niji ga denakute mo

Complete | KIHARA Noriko | 2020 released

Seme is a drag queen at a gay bar, quite used to being the subject of ridicule by heteros, yet unwilling to take any insult lying down. He meets the uke online via a chat app and then eventually in real life. Seme has always had a rule against dating straight men. Uke just wants him to give him a chance. The uke is not mean spirited, he's clearly very devoted. Seme took offence and acted way too quickly. I really liked the overall story, and seme does learn to control his temper and learn to apologise when he is wrong or has hurt someone. Hurray for character building. 4.6

Shouta, Kimi wo Aishiteru

Complete | Nitako | 2019 released

Rare are multiple story yaois done this *right*. What an absolute treat. 1: Shouta is a bit of a loner who longs to be in a relationship. One day, he picks up a handsome foreigner, Joshua, who looked weak and troubled, only to realise much later on that Josh is actually a famous American movie star. I really liked them? They were sweet and cute, if rushed. And they're good for each other. 4.6 3: Teppei is the cutest thing, who fell in love with Kazuki, a notorious delinquent at hold school. Kazuki disappears, leaving Teppei heartbroken, only to come back as a trained baker, to work in Teppei's family's bakery. Ohhh. They're so cute, so cute. I loved this one. Ahh. They're so darn adorable. 5 5: Azuma and Nishio just look like boss a d subordinate to the members of their small team, but in reality they've been together for years. Azuma is such an unexpected yet sweet uke. Very cute, overall. 4.7 Overall, enjoyed it a lot.

It's SO hot. It would be perfect, but the rape? dubcon? in the beginning plummeted this thing's rating (it would be 5/5, otherwise). I am rereading it again, right after finishing it, it's so good. Their relationship is so spicy. 4.5
