Profundis
As the translator said, the ending is confirmed to be bad. This is NOT a bl story. Just a psychological thriller that so happens to have only men in the lead roles. So don't go into it expecting anything other than coercion, abuse and horror. Because that's all I've seen. Edit: Yep. This shit's painful. My baby. Can I really read on? Ch 42
Royal Servant
Kyon becomes a servant at "aristocrat" Lucaon's mansion (aristrocrats are a class of humans born with superhuman abilities and a crystal embedded into their chest). At first, that's all they are, master and servant. But as the two become more and more involved with each other, the relationship between the gentle, lovestruck Kyon and arrogant Lucaon becomes more and more complicated. There are many things that prevent me from rating this 5/5. First of all, there's no clear resolution to the issue with Intron. The organisation still seems to be active, and their head still alive somewhere, scheming to stop the development of the antidote, possiblyby killing Lucaon. Second, Lucaon never seems to find out that his original servants never betrayed him. He goes on hating them AND other servants he currently employs. Third, I don't mind so much that Ryan passed away, as much as I mind how badly wrapped up his death was. There really wasn't much closure. He was not a great character, certainly (I kind of hated him, tbh). Being at the root of the development of VS, pulling all the shit he did with Kyon, etc., it's hard not to. But Lucaon and Sihan do deserve closure. Fourthly, while I would like to learn more about Karin and Sihan, I did feel like their background stories which were covered in the final chapters, were kinda forced and rushed (out of place, too). Fifth, I don't like Christoph, despite his being forced by his brother to do a lot of things, we also know he's a selfish arsehole. But. But, my heart breaks for him. That is such a sad way to live. All in all, the story had amazing potential, but didn't really live up to everything it could have been. It wasn't bad. Just not amazing, either. 4.6
Goshujinsama toke dama
Aw. Kinda pulled at my heartstrings, ngl. Good balance between fluff and angst. 4.7
My Blissful Marriage
I do enjoy the plot. But Feudal Japan is just not my favourite setting. Feudal Japan with fantasy elements is better, though. It's the treatment of women, depicted in truly awful detail here, that makes me dislike this type of setting so much. Ch 22
Onihebi Kyuai Monogatari
Shallow and simple but somehow pretty fun Ch 3
When I Close My Eyes, My Heart Beats
Average -.- 4.3?
Applause to our ancestor's
It started out seeming quite typical but is actually anything but! A riveting story of ties of blood and found family. Of sacrifice and perseverance and love. A model turned shaman (through no will of his) becomes embroiled in a wicked incubus's scheme to enact revenge upon a venerated family of shamans and swordsmen. But when the shaman falls in love with the heir to the family, fate begins to rewrite itself. Ch 47
Confession Night
Priest and devil who appeard in the form of priest's dead over. Ngl, it's kinda meh? Just pwp and average pwp, at that. Ch 4
Big Apple
Whoa. Despite Juergen being a bit of a psychopath, I still somehow managed to enjoy this thoroughly. The setting and the plot, coupled with the dynamic between Joachim's endearing, self-sacrificing little self, and Juergen's my way or highway stubbornness over the love of his life, made this such a fun read. The length was perfect, too. 5/5
