Mauri to Ryuu
1: Mauri, who was sent as a sacrifice to the wandering dragon god Raika (who doesn't eat people, where do these rumours come from, anyway?), in an unfortunate town were all the women have been kidnapped by an evil rapist merchant. Too short. Also hate the townspeople who used the lack of females as a valid excuse to harass and rape him. 4.5 2: Kanbai, who's been in love with the wandering rain god Shironome, since he was rescued from drowning when he was only 8, thinks it's unrequited. "Em... about this rainbow that's been up there for a week now..." It was okay, I didn't think it was anything special 4 3: A god of spring who calls forth the spring by singing in bird form and Jiin the consientious hunter he slowly falls in love with as he watches Jiin grow up. Jiin save him from kidnappers and he save Jiin in turn. A forever kinda love. Really liked the vibe, though too short. 5 4: Lovers Kitsune and Orphee, the wandering horse god and lost little Kio whom they adopt. Kio is not all he seems. Really bittersweet and beautiful. 5 5: Otsuka the black dragon god who is rumoured to bring misfortune and Itsuka the bandit, who's been following him forever in a war ravaged country. Ongoing. 4.5 Overall: 4.6
Hate Mate
I only read the last 12 chalters or so, but it felt bitter and ugly and unstable. And cold, cold longing ribboned the epilogue. I would go far as to say I hated it. Reminds me of that one open ended Spirk fic where Spock has amnesia and leaves Jim and the Enterprise and they see each otheragain many years later. Hated that too. 3.5
Thirty Years Old
In the very beginning, I did think Qiu Yu was being somewhat unreasonable, and especially worried about Xiao Hua being take advantage of, given how naive and sincere he is. But now, I truly do see, how they both wield equal power in this relationship. I love many of the side characters. The siblings are wonderful and the best friends were just great, made the whole thing that much more enjoyable. I dislike Qiu Yu's parents, but I do think he is handling them well. Who knows, maybe he'll get them to come around. Glad that Xia Hua's mom had a change of heart. She was great!! The real annoying character in all of this so far, is Yao Jian. What a self centered asshole! But I feel like Xiao Hua's creepy ex may also make another shitty appearance. Additionally, I also really liked Lan Yang and the Elder brother's story, but again, their path looks rife with hardships. Unless, of course, the first two get accepted, thus making it smooth sailing for the elder bro, who even has a kid already (maybe that counts for something with the rents?) 5
Tada Omoukoto wa
Hmm. A typical unrequited but actually requited story about friends in high school, who's love comes to fruition as adults. Didn't really carry the angst and melancholy attached to the stories that use this plot, that I love reading so much. The characters were all right, I wasn't crazy about any of them, though. The story was okay, a little boring? 4.3
Patchwork (fujitani Youko)
They are wonderful, for striving so hard to give this child some measure of happiness and love ('some' as in, any and all they could, and then some)
Yuki Iro Machiboke
No! Just. No. This is not a fucking ending, dammit! Honestly, this makes me so upset! How the heck does this get only 1 chapter but the shittiest plots get 20+?? How?? I think they're simply adorable together! Long live!
Hana ni Omoeba
Ariska is a 30 year old (bi? pan?) dude who owns a flower shop and hasn't been on a date in years. He falls for the dillugent boyfriend who always comes in to buy flowers for his lover. Nice. Wouldn't really reread, kinda forgettable. 4.4
Kuroko no Basuke dj - Aru Kagaku no Shoumei
Precious and adorable and while it was 3 years, they didn't waste their best years, so that makes me happy. This couple tends to get a tonne of angst, while this was angsty too, it was bearable. Usually, this couple tears me apart, always so terribly sad and lonely
Karasugaoka Don't be shy!!
