I. It's just. A lot? He's literally not right in the head. And what he did was just disgusting. And Gu Won was losing his shit, too. I don't know if I can survive the traumatic backstory either. But I am incredibly curious so will read on.

Shitto wa ai o Kumoraseru

Complete | NAGISA Eiji | 2020 released

Kirino was a young pianist who peaked at 10 when he lost his beloved mother (a famous pianist, herself). Disillusioned with life and estranged from his father, he finds his doom and salvation both, in an up and coming new pianist, Takase, who seems to idol worship him. Again, unhealthy but strong relationship. I feel like they'll become healthier as they each come into their own more and more. Why are musical yaois always so angsty? ~Ahhh. 4.6

Yeah, I never liked this one. He should have ended up with neither.

They're both lonely and all sorts of not okay. Neglected by the families who were supposed to love them, having grown up more than just a little messed up inside. So while, yes, he stalked him, and they still decided to stay together, I can't say they're not working out well. They're pretty much co-dependently, perfectly made for each other. 4.9

Stigmata - Aikon

Complete | TAKAHASHI Hidebu | 2019 released

Had to stop midway and come here because I really wanted to capture the essence of this story right. Asako is a rookie detective who has a strange condition that causes him to experience resentment, pain and the physical wounds of those who are killed wrongfully. While they heal afterwards with medical care, his constitution has left him ostracised all his life. But when his supervisor Kuroiwa's ex-wife is killed, causing Asako to carry her final thoughts around until justice is served, he finds companionship in the unlikely arms of a lonely man. Both characters are so reserved. Makes sense, though, the story is quite a sombre one.The art is very oddly detailed. It's beautiful in a way yaoi rarely is these days. I'm so glad Kurowa is such a kind, responsible man. Asako is just right for this lonely-hearted fella, too. I do feel bad for Mari-san and what never was. But the ending did not feel bittersweet. It was warm. Filling. And I also must say, this story is almost singular amongst BL in this regard; there is no pandering to be had here. No rose-tinted imaginings. Just, life, with a side of parapsychology. 5

When he said 50 more years. I fucking died. That's exactly how I've been holding on. This story's fucking debilitating, I swear. I knew it was about the trauma and loneliness attached to having a particularly unsavoury sexual fetish, so while I expected to be sad, I didn't think there would be anything much I could relate to. But the depression and loneliness, damn. I didn't expect to be attacked. The thing is, both characters are so lovely, too. And he's such a sincere guy. I guess they both are. They're good people and they deserve good things. Ch 4

Royal Servant

Complete | MasterGin,Chungnyun | 2016 released

Kyon becomes a servant at "aristocrat" Lucaon's mansion (aristrocrats are a class of humans born with superhuman abilities and a crystal embedded into their chest). At first, that's all they are, master and servant. But as the two become more and more involved with each other, the relationship between the gentle, lovestruck Kyon and arrogant Lucaon becomes more and more complicated. There are many things that prevent me from rating this 5/5. First of all, there's no clear resolution to the issue with Intron. The organisation still seems to be active, and their head still alive somewhere, scheming to stop the development of the antidote, possiblyby killing Lucaon. Second, Lucaon never seems to find out that his original servants never betrayed him. He goes on hating them AND other servants he currently employs. Third, I don't mind so much that Ryan passed away, as much as I mind how badly wrapped up his death was. There really wasn't much closure. He was not a great character, certainly (I kind of hated him, tbh). Being at the root of the development of VS, pulling all the shit he did with Kyon, etc., it's hard not to. But Lucaon and Sihan do deserve closure. Fourthly, while I would like to learn more about Karin and Sihan, I did feel like their background stories which were covered in the final chapters, were kinda forced and rushed (out of place, too). Fifth, I don't like Christoph, despite his being forced by his brother to do a lot of things, we also know he's a selfish arsehole. But. But, my heart breaks for him. That is such a sad way to live. All in all, the story had amazing potential, but didn't really live up to everything it could have been. It wasn't bad. Just not amazing, either. 4.6

Quite rushed. And what the Emperor did was truly unforgivable. I do not know how he can bear to forgive it, even if he did love him so very much. I just want to him to be happy, at least. So I guess I have to live with this. 4.5
