Tayori Tayorite
Rio is living alone while his father is off teaching in God knows where, when he is visited by one of his father's students, Rui. Rui seems to act like he is quite familiar with Rio. Where could they have met before? This is definitely one of those stories that you don't think much of at first, but slowly creep their way into your heart. I love the sort of connection they have. With or without knowing it, Rio saved poor, abused Rui many times over. Not just from his loneliness, but also from the feelings of worthlessness and insecurities about his physical characteristics. His mom is such a disgusting person, to cheat on her husband and blame the physical proof of her child on the child himself. It's just disgusting. Rio, on the other hand. People may not think it, because it's a light-ish yaoi and you don't really expect this kind of plot in this kind of yaoi. But. That's definitely neglect. Abuse, even. It's his exam period and his father couldn't make a bloody phone call??? Rio even tried to go to a community college so that he could be there when his dad gets home. His dad really does not deserve that kind of devotion. I had actually hoped Rio would leave without telling him. But whatever the situation, I'm so glad he followed his dreams to Tokyo (and Rui). They really are the perfect cure for each other's loneliness. 4.6
Dine With a Vampire
Chi Hwan is no saint. And it is difficult to really like him despite his having saved Sooin. He killed hundreds of vampires, but it was so that he could live. The story doesn't really explain why he was unable to drink blood from humans, though. Sooin, as well. Was too broken and morally gray, to be an enjoyable character. It was through no fault of his, though. Such were his circumstances. I do feel Sungha should have to suffer more for his actions. Man's a fucking psychopath! Joohyun, though, suffered enough for his part in the proceedings, more or less. Overall, the plot was interesting and the ending twist was quite good, but I just didn't enjoy the story. Too much truma and pain. 4/5
Asagao wa Yoru kara Saku
Yuugen's secret love and the only person who acknowledges him at school, Hideto, passes away in a freak accident. Now Yuugen has to help him pass on by taking care of all his unfinished business. God. I knew it was not a coma story. I knew. But. Fucking. I was not ready for this, okay. I was not ready. 5
I was possessed by your Ex-boyfriend
Really don't think I'll like it, but want to see how it plays out
GOODBYE RITUAL - Banana Fish dj
Just skme no-context angst. Very nicely done. No idea what's going on.
Omerta
An inspector with the police department comes to a city to find the truth behind the murder of his brother, only to become involved with the next in line for a major mafia family, and embroiled in a crime network that has it's roots in unexpected places. Interesting, certainly, but also, mafia stories are almost always difficult reads.
Quite The Ordinary Halloween
wtf?? no!! the fuck!! get back here! noooooo Edit: This is kind of awful. Pain T.T
Bongchon Bride
It's gruesome and depressing the way most of these twisted Korean historical yaoi are. There's slavery, rape, death, flickers of incest, obsession, class warfare, unbearable amounts of abuse and staggering debt. It's not an easy read, but you can't help reading because you have to know they get to be happy. You have to. Ch 29
Snow Fairy
Haruki is a lonely fellow who lives alone in his parents' farmhouse (albeit next door to his loving grandmother and not too far from his precious friends) after they died in a tragic accident when he was young. Narumi is a well travelled, famous photographer whk comes to Haruki's sleepy little village in search of snow fairies. Could he finally break Haruki out of his shell? I love that Narumi decided to move. But I feel like Haruki could also have made an effort tk go out jnto the qorld with him. I feel like the effort is a little onesided (not a lot, but still). Overall, the plot dragged on, and I found myself struggling to finish it. But, ultimately, having finished it, I have to admit it was quite nice. 4.5
