It's sad, fo sure, between the abuse and his dead mom and the bad luck that seems to be persisting. But. It's also a really warm story Gen and Prez and them are really so kind. The whole school and the senseis, they are all such nice people and of course, Tsukasa was great. His dad coming around to being a dad again was good, but it doesn't take away from the years of physical and emotional abuse and neglect. I feel like he should be begging for forgiveness. Still loved the story, though

Akuma De Keiyaku

Complete | himuro sakura | 2000 released

1: Seme is somewhat rapey but I honestly didn't hate the story. It just wasn't amazing either. Ryou, a rich heir who is being isolated in his own company after his grandfather's death, summons a demon (Bel) out of boredom and the demon ends up being the best damn secretary 4 2: Story about Phi, the younger looking demon whom Bel mentors, who comes looking for Bel, and the shady as fuck infirmary sensei who works in Ryou's company. Blech. Too young looking, even if he is hundreds of years old. 3 3: Story about a neglected uke whose family is full of elites who undermine and belittle him for not being as smart. He's retaking his uni entrance exams and summons a demon to help with the studying, only, it was the wrong kinda demon 4.3 Overall: 3.8

I want you to only be happy forever :') This is so wonderful, even though they could have forgone all the pigtail pulling and dancing around, if they had been honest with each other about their feelings. Who knows, maybe they would have lived full happy lives together. But, I still do think they're very happy where they are. It's not a romance to end all romances, but it's nice and both mains were kind, Kuroishi in particular being really considerate. I hated the boss, though. She was unfair and heavy handed and disrespectful. Arima was even worse. 4.5 2: Even in Arima's story, he annoyed me. His holier than thou attitude really does not do him any favours. Saeki was a really beautiful character, though. Glad he got to be happy. And he met his old friend (the poor thing) and made peace, somehow, knowing that there were people who had cared for him and continue to do so. Rated for Saeki and his beautiful soul, and Arima's character development 4.5

The Only One Who Didn't Know

Complete | Domino | 2016 released

42 chapters. 42, and it could never be enough. I can never stop looking for more. More of them together. Finally healing. Happy. Even going about life, doing mundane things. This worked so beautifully because Min Pyo was such a truly wonderful, open minded person. At times seeming so sloppy despite his abundant talent, he's still such a caring and gentle character. He's so careful and considerate. And fucking loyal, surrounded by friends who are of the same ilk. Jisoo was such a strong and beautiful character as well, you immediately want to root for him, forever. I'm so happy, knowing he's going to be so well taken care of. I hated that ugly hearted sunbae but, the contempt I feel for Hyunwoo is just. It transcends that by far. If he hadn't died so miserable, that would have made this bittersweet story unbearably bitter. Shame we don't get to see them fully healing or Min's art. But I still loved the story. I wouldn't read it on a bad day, though. Definitely not.

This is so stupid, it's killing my brain cells. Visha was such a creep to begin with, pretty much abducting him and trying to manipulate him into staying while he is emotionally vulnerable. Rajendor was a fucking rapist who stole in to his room in the middle of the night but Visha was so much worse when he tried to have Maya killed and/or fucking gangraped when he realised Maya had been raped by Visha. The level of stupidity is infuckingsane. I hate this. Read my lips: H A T E. Nothing saves this. Not even the hot threesome at the end. And also, why do Japanese mangakas almost always manage to capture foreign cultures so wrongly and offensively? Like, please use google. 1.5

Pheromone Shower - Omegaverse Short Stories

Complete | Chiryong,chilyong, Juicy Hunter, Koz | 2018 released

An assortment of shitty rape stories... is what I was going to say. But that would be extremely unfair to the last story. 1: Kei, who hated all betas because he was jealous of them, and Mei, who pretended to be a beta in highschool. Story revolves around how Mei pushed Kei into a corner by isolating him, fueling his gambling, and leaving him neck deep in debt. Mei is the epitome of a shitty, entitled seme/alpha. I hate it so much! His reasoning is defunct, man. Sure, Kei isn't the nicest character around, but he's far from terrible and certainly, has lived a sad life, and deserves better. Also, I just plain do not like mangas with gambling addicts. 3.3 12: Hyun Jung seduces his supervisor, Shi Woo, then uses nepotism to blackmail him into sleeping with him, whenever he wants. This fucker's like "I'm not raping you, just using my nepotism to blackmail you (over the time I dragged your hammered ass to a hotel for sex), and make you do something sexual that you clearly said you don't want to do”. I mean, I'm not about to take the high road after all these dubcon and noncon yaoi I've read (some of which I have even enjoyed), but let's all call a spade, a spade, yeah?! And the training abroad thing is also so lacking in body autonomy and consent, this manga is just out to rape this guy in every which way possible! I don't find this funny or entertaining. 2.2 23: This one is so intriguing and plot heavy, it feels so out of place in a collection like this. I only wish there could be a couple more fluff and switching chapters to make up for all the hardships and suspense in the bulk of the story. Min Hae-il is a gambling addict (or is he???) who gets saddled with taking care of Suh Lim, the kidnapped rich guy, who's being questioned on the whereabouts of some documents connecting his brother to multiple corruption cases (his brother is the one trying to keep Suh Lim in check, because he knows too much, and everyone is aware of the fact). The amount of little side plots and character development here amazes me, honestly. You hardly find that in a 10 chapter yaoi. I love the twists, and honestly, some the side characters were top notch as well. Suh Lim got really lucky he was surrounded by good people who cared about him. The way Suh Lim grew as a person was staggering. I love this story!! 5 Overall : 4 Edit: sequel for last story is right here!!

No! Just. No. This is not a fucking ending, dammit! Honestly, this makes me so upset! How the heck does this get only 1 chapter but the shittiest plots get 20+?? How?? I think they're simply adorable together! Long live!

Kizutsukenai de ne

Complete | Riona | 2016 released

I think this will be pretty interesting... Edit: 1: It was nice. Fairly lighthearted for such a heavy subject matter. Atsushi, a mixed race child who was abandoned in an orphanage by his abusive mother, grew up attached to Masa, an orphan a few years older than him, never knowing his white father. After moving to Tokyo, he went through life with no other real attachments until Yuuya, a well meaning and kind hearted idiot, walks into his tattoo parlour and life. I enjoyed it, but Atsushi's actions also do raise some red flags. His trauma had a really deep rooted effect. I think they'll be okay, though. Yuuya is really good for him and Masa also continues to look over them. I'm really happy Yuuya found something that makes him happy. Not everyone needs to walk a corporate 9-5 job to live a good life, you know. Glad his mom came around. 4.6 5: Simple workplace romance about a capable senpai who captures the heart of a smitten kohai without meaning to. The uke being older and widowed lends a slightly different tone to this one than others woth a similar theme. I didn't have any particularly strong feelings for this one, though. It was okay, but the drunk sexual activity just is always a no from me. 4

Cover Up

Complete | gyaga | 2019 released

Looks kinda interesting, but also? Too many pain-in-the-ass characters (not the mains) Edit: Story about an abused soul, barely hanging onto his life and sanity, finally meeting the man who would breathe new life into him (and save himself in the process). The only real POS character is Seung Jae's disease of a brother! The rest have substance to them, if nothing else. Geum Hwa is such a fragile person, so unstable and wavering and hungry, but not sure for what, forever searching for a safe place to land. Or was that drown? Seung Jae is certainly his ocean. I love them together, they were clearly meant to be. They seemed to provide safe havens for each other in a way they hadn't seemed to know they needed. Min Wook is such a psychopath, like, he's literally insane, and such an abusive dick who was gaslighting the shit out of Geum Hwa. But I don't doubt he loved him once. He couldn't hold Geum Hwa, the sand like Geum Hwa, who was sliding out of his fists, never meant to be his, and he couldn't live with that. I am glad he let him go, not under any kind of delusion that that was in any way easy. Would love to see his own story with Seung Jae's underling. Geum Hwa and Seun Jae honestly need about at least, AT THE VERY LEAST, 10 sextras and flufftras.

A rope artist gets roped into taking care of a yakuza footman who is in danger. Again. Why does this keep happening. I swear up and down (and left and right) that I don't normally like yakuza stories... but this one's SO damn lovable. Whyyy?? I love how gentle Rui is, like, why is he such a wonderful human being?? He's so tender and caring with everyone??! Aaahhh. He really is the perfect man to look after the wounded but incredibly resilient, innocent blob that is Natori. Their relationship is so fulfilling. My only regret is that Natoru continues in the line of work, although with a much better employer. Even in this, Rui is so understanding. I just love these characters and this story so much!! 5*, like, come on!
