Kimi no Hitomi ni Ubawaretai
Very run-of-the-mill slice of life story about a wedding planner (Haruka) who has a hard time smiling genuinely and a wedding photographer (Jun) who prefers the dazzling world he sees without himself, from behind a lens. It was good. There are was a lot of subtle themes in this, about self perception, mental health and loneliness. I think, they're really, really good for each other. Hated Izumi, though, wtf? How shameless do you have to be to go after someone who is clearly in a relationship with someone else you know. And he didn't even know Haruka well enough to be going after him, tf? Shameless. 4.4
Risou no Koibito Himemiya-kun
Akihito is a masseur at a hot springs inn, looking for the ideal Japanese beauty to fall in love with, after getting his heart broken by a particularly flashy dude. When the perfectly beautiful and well mannered part-timer Himemiya walks into the inn (and Akihito's life) he seems almost too good to be true. I love them. I really, really do. Akihito is such a sweet guy, and I doubt there is a man alive who could resist Himemiya's quiet, diligent love. 5!
Until I Meet My Husband
I am. So proud of you. Ryousuke. You deserve all of that love and happiness. Be well.
Barefoot Angel
Turner, a young shoemaker, takes in a mysterious stranger in the dead of winter, thinking him to be another homeless man down on his luck, only to find he's taken home a fallen angel. The topic is nothing shallow. But the execution is light and easy. There's nothing I don't like about this. Except, maybe, I just need a bit more of their lives afterwards. The yearning and the waiting is beautifully depicted, but there's nothing negative about it, a rare feat. I also loved Turner's easy acceptance, faith, even. As far as yaoi go, this was just, sublime 5
Chicken Heart Serenade
The story of Hiromichi and Hayato. Neither had led a particularly happy childhood, ostracised and neglected, but the moments where they're ignoring that their sex-only relationship has progressed to them just enjoying each other's company wholeheartedly might be the sweetest of their lives. 5 It's so, so, so good. I am so mad at their awful parents. I 'm just sk happy and heartbroken at the same time. "I held a man with these hands" T.T I started bawling, ngl. 5!5!5! Putting this in my top 20
Aien Catharsis
A sweet and forbidden Taisho Era love story about a man who's fiancée had run out on him, and his new chauffeur. It was sweet, and, dare I say it, cathartic. 4.8
Ore ga Mitsuketa, Konbini no Koi
I wanna root for this miserable piece of work. He's a real headache, it takes one to know one. But I want him to get somewhere.
Itsuka no Koi to Natsunohate
I'll give them a 4.5 for the long term unrequited love that ended well with little complication, despite having taken so long to get there. I do feel for Ichika, who had to deal with just how thick headed the love of his life is. Misunderstood even after he got directly confessed to. Yeesh. Glad it worked out, though.
Akari to Kare wa Nayamashii
It would have been so good if he wasn't a minor. Why did they make Akari freaking 16. It's gross af.
Happy End wa Goisshoni
