Itoshii, To Iu Koto
1:Senpai and Kohai at work. 4 year difference, younger one's the seme. He's a tad too pushy for my taste and the uke seems very meh about the fact that the seme basically tied his hands behind his back and had sex with him. Odd. Did not like it, really. 3* 2: This is the one with the book store that closes down. I enjoyed it. It's nothing exceptional, but it's all right. low 4* 3: Strange S and M style historic story about a lieutenant and a writer who have a sexual relationship with no mention of feelings for 8 years. There is no depth to the story. No, let's not say that. I enjoy PWP and nonsensical stories too, both of which have no complex plots. This has no emotion. The feelings are forced, through out the book. The characters don't come to life :-/ 3*

Don't get me wrong, it's definitely very good. Yaotome's sincerity and unwavering loyalty and affection endears me to him endlessly. Also, how brave he is, and how optimistic and even kind. I just like him a lot. Akatsuki, I get why he was the way he was. Sexual orientation related issues left a not insignificant mark on him, in his formative years, but I wish he had accepted it sooner (I wouldn't say realised it sooner, because he definitely realised it years ago). As always, I enjoy notice me senpai stories, with a side of reencounter. And the characters are so likable here, so it's a huge plus. My only complaint is that I don't get to see them more lovey dovey. Need a few more chapters with just fluff and smut. Like, 4, at least

An aristocrat alpha born into an era of alpha supremacy and class warfare decides he will not be lead around by societal expectations or "fate" and chooses to make his own destiny. First of all, this is bloody brilliant! Secondly, I need resolution, dammit! I love that Maurice was able to be an ally, even brought up as he was. That he fought his instincts so hard, and so many times, just so that he could choose to keep loving Simon. I love Simon, as a top. Love that he's so gentle and the fact that he's a beta is so great. Claude, though, mjght be my absolute favourite. He's so brave and so intelligent and such a forward thinker, so ahead of his time. I loved the whole thing, really. 5 The side story was about a high ranking military official (Major Miller) who was demoted for refusing to march his men into a hopeless situation. His second in command notices his popularity dropping in the ranks due to his resultant sour mood, and attempts to rectify the situation. A delicious little morsel to accompany an already great series. 4.6
