I think in chapter 25 abigail had wrong impression that both the king and miriam are children The king was 15, and the one who forced him to have sex is the mom/the adults The wife forced him too, but from what i see she's just echoing the adults's opinion, i haven't read that far, but it's stated that the first wife was as young as the king, so maybe she pushed him to quickly have an heir because she was pushed by the adults too? I mean she's young and her mindset is heavily influenced by the adults, so even though she had a role in forcing him, i think the fault is still on the adults? I mean yes the king got traumatized, but the first wife died, before knowing how old she was when giving birth to blanche i didn't think too much why she died, but after finding out that she was a teenager, no wonder she died, adolescent/teeage pregnancy is super risky... Somehow i think the king and his first wife are both victims of the adults
