Tia begins to avoid Cil because of Heronia’s words. Cil asks Tia why but she refuses to tell him anything except that her “downfall” was necessary to achieve Cil’s happy ending. Tia then gives Cil her diary which contains all the “bad” things she has done to be used as evidence against her (but they are not bad, just cute fails). Cil doesn’t understand why the “downfall” has to be kept a secret from him and decides to investigate. He finds out that Heronia keeps asking Courtgain about Marquis Noche’s evil doings. Piecing everything together, Cil comes to this conclusion: At the graduation ceremony, Heronia will reveal Tia being a bully and Marquis Noche being a criminal. Cil will then cut off their engagement and choose Heronia. On the day of the graduation ceremony, Cil makes Tia wear a blue and yellow dress (his eye and hair color that Tia loves) and tells her everything will be okay. After giving his speech as student council president, he calls Tia to the stage. Then, he takes out a velvet box and promises to marry Tia when she graduates 2 years from now. At this point, Heronia does the classic OBJECTION!!! She says “this woman is not suited for you!” and when asked why, she says Tia is a bully. Cil asks for proof and Heronia asks the crowd to speak their greivances. But no one does. No one dares to speak against the future crown princess. Heronia then says Marquis Noche is a criminal. Cil asks for proof. She pulls put a thick wad of documents from underneath her skirt (yes, ew) and reveals that Marquis Noche is in contact with criminals. Cil reveals that the Marquis was tasked to investigate all those criminals. With nothing left, Heronia goes full psycho mode. “I am your fated girl! If you don’t choose me, you will become nothing more than an intelligent doll! If you kiss me, a mark will appear on my body that shows I am your chosen one!” The knights begin to drag delulu girl away as Tia cries and covers Cil’s ears from Heronia’s verbal abuse. Cil understands that Tia kept the “downfall” a secret so that he wont have to hear these hurtful words. As delulu girl is dragged away, her spirit bird launches itself towards Cil and Tia. Cil uses his body to protect Tia. Enveloped in light, the spirit shows Cil the timeline of the Otome game, the one where Tia isnt a cute idiot but an ordinary girl. The one where he chooses Heronia. And he tells the spirit, this is not my Tia. Not my future. I will not choose this route. I am happy now. Spirit bird dies. Cil wakes up. He understands what the “mark” is. He kisses Tia and Zenon gives tia a mark on the back of her hand. Its proof that the master has chosen his fated partner and the spirit will now also protect that partner. Tia also gives Cil a mark through Kuro. Heronia is disowned and punished to live out the rest of her days in a monastery as a commoner (very satisfying arc but i just summed it up). The King tells Cil that children of royal blood are sometimes born exceptionally smart in exchange for their emotions. If they do not find someone to help them, they live out their lives like dolls. Seeing Cil as one such exceptional child, he made a gamble by engaging Cil with the cute, kind but idiotic Tia in hopes that she will be interesting enough for Cil. His gamble was spot on. And Cil learned what it means to be in love. Also, They have 2 kids. A boy first that's just like Cil, perfectly smart and obsessed with his mother until little sister is born. The boy then turns his affection to his little sister. I don't exactly remember their names but it was like Anikin and Anikiss, something like that. The best part is that Kuroe is pregnant with Zeno's baby at the same time as bertia is with second child. They also married the spirit way. Kuroe became pregnant because as a darkness spirit at night has more power and she can transform to an adult and had fun with zeno. Spo: It will still take a while before everything gets cleared. If it goes exactly like the novel, there's another crucial character yet to be introduced. He's an OP character who'll fall in love with Heronia, which will make things more messy, and Heronia's bird is actually a spirit who fell in love with her as well. Prince Cecil will fall into a dream spell of sorts where he experiences another reality, exactly in the game where he falls in love with Heronia and not Bertia. It seems that the reason why Bertia keeps pushing Cecil with Heronia is because Cecil has this secret curse in his bloodline where children of the Royal family becomes some sort of doll-like thing and they can only avoid this by being with their fated partner. Heronia initially had this 'setting' why she was so insistent, but it was later revealed that Bertia became his fated partner a long time ago. Heronia got what she deserved, but not really cruel. She was given a choice for a chance to change and fortunately, she took it. Also, Cecil & Bertia got married and had children

I'm really happy she ended up with the Crown Prince; I'm a huge sucker for the tyrant to lover trope LOL. It was adorable to see how he slowly ended up falling in love with her and changing himself along with changing her, to the point where she chose to stay in that world instead of going back to her own. What happened to slave boy was really unfortunate. It's a shame he died like he did but his love for her was so strong that he'd kill for her. He still would have acted like he did without the brainwashing. The world building was bad, honestly. While reading it there were so many parts where I was confused. This novel would have been so much stronger had there been more effort on world building, developing nations, educational system, political and economical ties, etc. But overall I did enjoy reading it even if the actual story wasn't the best. penelope low key forgot about Eckleis, too busy with the other target characters. to get her attention, he brings back yvonne! (yvonne is the true daughter of the duke) the person who brought back yvonne in the ORIGINAL story (or otome game) was Vinter, but he didn't this time. but there's something wrong with yvonne, so she's all evil and shit. (different from the sweet yvonne in the og game) penelope almost dies bc of yvonne's schemes (i think) but eclipse protects her. (but still lives. SORRY! I thought he died) And then his body is never ffound and later when she goes on to travel journey and excavations she finds out hes been secretly following her for 3 years. but (apparently) his memories are gone. his brain got screwed with a mirror and he went crazy dark side through mirror manipulation - it wasnt penelope. But the sick love he felt for her was a catalyst to him getting used and brainwashed. The daughter that returns isn't actually the real daughter, she's a fake, and is actually a witch and part of this cult of bad people that are trying to ruin the dukes family and take over the kingdom. She first returns, and instead of completely accepting her as his daughter, the father and brother are doubtful so they post pone the announcement of her return so they can carefully ensure that she's not a fake. But during a super important ceremony that penelope's the main character of, she arrives escorted by either her brother or eclise, or both. I honestly can't remember. But it causes a huge fuss. And I think penelope's gets pissed at eclise bc he was trying to get penelope to be replaced by the real daughter so he could have her without her responsibilities as a princess. I THINK. I don't remember. The fake real daughter is also using mind control magic and controls one of the brothers like that, but everyone else kinda avoids her bc she's suspicious.
