ch 32. since jaeha keeps talking about a misunderstanding and whatnot, it's probably that he wasn't the one who killed his cat. maybe he saw someone else doing it and fought that person off, but it was too late and kiwoon, in a twist of bad fate, stumbled upon that scene.

not really angst; main issue is lack of communication. the underlying issue between the mc and the black-haired guy is that the latter takes the former for granted, and whilst he wasn't "cold" per se, he is more preoccupied with his business than mc's feelings and mc doesn't exactly directly tell him stuff that needs to be said either. still, the doctor is a much more appealing candidate... anyway, their problem hasn't been addressed yet (ch 11). mc wants to forget him but is still very much in love with him, while the ml thinks he's just throwing a tantrum. ch 13. I'm just annoyed bc ml and ml will obviously get back together, so really there's no need for a second ml. the doc coulve just been a friend who, aware of mc's plight, helps mc and bullys the ml by making ml jealous. another thing- after mc started acting more resistant to ml, he just somehow becomes aware what exactly was the issue? like that's great and all, but id much rather have mc tell him point-blank bc it will mean he had some chara growth too. at this point, not only is this not cathartic, it's growing more frustrating by the chapter. based on spoilers, ig I shouldn't waste any more of my time on this.

Faded First Love

Sand Castle

i actually enjoyed this. it's a well-written subversion of the typical stories with generic plots like these. based on the generalized events, it'll seem like another cliche bl/hetero story where the mc falls for ml first, persistently pursues, and succeeds, but the relationship is rocky cuz the ml treats the mc like shit, so mc has had enough and breaks up. and ml proceeds to regret and try to win her/him back. this, but the story is self-aware about the lovebombing and the ramifications and doesn't romanticize it like several other bl stories do. usually the way the mls would just become stalker-ish after the breakups is so unrealistic, but this story explains the reason well. and it felt rather more pathetic than cathartic ngl. granted, it was very cathartic how mc was just so cold to him and seeing ml so desperate like a stray dog... but this wasn't written to be cathartic and romantic. it actually showed how messed up the situation is. mc is toxic, but in a realistic way. he seemed pretty normal when he was still together with the ml, but his other twisted side reveals itself when he breaks up with him. the way he just lost interest, and was even disgusted by the ml who was acting all clingy, yet simultaneously felt pleasure seeing how the ml was reduced to such a mess.... it's so goddamn realistic. and what makes it better is that this is pointed out several times in this story. tbh, the most healthy ending would be if they should've cut off ties... but i also think they're meant for each other. i hate it when the mc stupidly goes back to ml cuz they choose to believe in him again, but this actually feels right. ml really went crazy here, and he knows it- he knows what mc did was lovebombing but he cant help it. he willingly ruined his reputation to make mc feel guilty and unable to extricate himself from his life... man, that was toxic asf... but i loved it ngl.

oh wow when they say sexual tension they actually mean it lol. absolutely love the art style and the muted colors and angle shots and shading- storytelling is just great, it delivers when it comes to conveying the right atmosphere, whether it's tense, sexual, or funny. the mc, he's very likable and pretty, he's no coward and is assertive when he needs to be. the ml... he's perverted, cheeky, a bit sadistic, and sexually harass mc with his words. he only gives mc special treatment, and ngl his chara visual makes me giddy...it feels juvenile to like his chara, but whatever. he's really hot man. and possessive/obsessive. it was unexpected but not surprising to learn he was the reason mc was kidnapped. all so he can capture him and put him on a leash (metaphorically). really reinforces how he's a "mad dog"

Moritat

Complete | Lee Seon-ui | 2000 released

it's very complicated, with several plot twists. however i felt that it couldve been presented in a more digestible way. it kinda felt all over the place, like the author is making it over-complicated for the sake of it. like, i get what's going on and stuff, but i think some overview narration would make me understand better, and thus appreciate the story more. esp the last 5 or so chapters. the author should've used it to clarify some stuff
