a historical cultivation manhua featuring an fl that's actually good! most of manga/manhua/manhwa I've read about a swordsman fl usually skip the process of their journey. fl is interesting. she was forced to grow up and shred away her naive innocence after tragedy strikes (it made me cry...), becoming more mature and strong. plot-wise, this is good. the first arc was the growing-up process and sets the stage for the future, the second so far (ch64) is finding fl's brother. the characters are diverse and not just 1-D idiots (the dark-skinned girl is seriously gorgeous). ngl I was somewhat expecting a slice-of-life shoujo-vibe story, but the angsttt...! I've read so many poor-quality manhua that I'm seriously happy to find one of good quality...

mc is a dumb ass who takes things at face value. I didn't read the novel, but I did read the spoilers. lololol can you forgive a rapist who raped you out of spite and used you as a replacement as his beloved just so he that wouldn't 'taint' or whatever him? haha pisses me offff but I can't deny his hatred is justified, bc ml is really quite cold (I wouldn't have known the truth if it weren't for the spoilers). but tbh the premise is pretty interesting (after regression, his goal is to protect his beloved and ambitions and defeat the villain, which is pretty cliche right? but in reality, everything was a lie.). p.s. don't read the specific spoilers. reading about the spiteful acts mc would commit to ml, I really can't handle that much angst and might continue to hate mc even after his redemption.

ch. 4 mc's the son of an orthodox sect leader right? so far, nothing interesting is going on. he's not particularly interesting. he's pretty dense too. he somehow believes this tsundere girl (probably the love interest) is his servant. after a few interactions, it should be obvious she isn't. but why isn't she correcting him, either? this is getting dumb.
