Monster
it's just more mystery stacked upon mystery upon even more mystery. so many mysteries entangled that it's somewhat convoluted. the suspense never leaves. the villain is a villain in the truest sense of the word. the mc, the misunderstood "hero", is literally the best human being ever... other characters are important. some have character growth. some died. the ending was...open. i honestly did not get it. some aspects arent really clear.
Pluto
I'm so confused about the ending... so what exactly was the teddy bear robot? what crimes did the guy gesicht killed did? what happened to the robot kid he adopted?
20th Century Boys
is ch 249 the last chapter? who is the friend imposter? what about the woman's pregnancy?
21st Century Boys
oh it's the sequel to 20th century boys. since it was a while since I read the main story, I forgot who's the real friend and who the fake one. also, it seems the author incorporated some sci-fi thing that allowed mc and the scammer guy's ghost to travel into the past and meet their younger selves...?
Ore no Genjitsu wa Ren’ai Game?? ka to Omottara Inochigake no Game datta
it's interesting. but it would've been better without the ecchi parts, the horny ml (he interpreted "assault" as in SA, and was pretty hyped to rape someone. also, he's kinda dumb.), the crazy lady (target class A). like she's not yandere but a freaking psycho who kills on a whim, it's not like she has a compelling reason or personality either. i really dislike her. nevertheless, if it's gonna be endgame with them, we'll just have to accept it. my biggest gripe is how horny mc is for her and other women, and he keeps leering at them and show their boobs and panties... and as a woman, it distracts from the immersive reading. :/. due to these aforementioned reasons, i might drop it. what a pity, cuz it really is interesting.
Ajin
ch 11. wow. this is good. like the events keep culminating into this climax, the hints were dropped throughout the story, my tension keeps rising. like i kinda had an inkling he was kinda a psychopath, so it wasn't a surprise, but I'm very interested as to how this confrontation will unfold. ch 35.5 holy shit. srsly tho, the ajin demi-human powers is rather simple to explain yet also very fleshed out, but it's ingenious how they use it in many different ways to fight, etc... and now this crazy "transportation" method? absolute nuts. also, the villain, sato, is freaking scary despite looking like a nice granpa, like homelander scary except he doesn't have any weaknesses ch 52. wowowowow the author is brilliant in pulling off these twists leading us around by the nose and then catch us completely by surprise. god, sato is freaking terrifying i literally stop breathing for a sec bro ch 86. great ending. jesus christ sato is srsly terrifying, all that effort and it was almost fruitless and they were ready to give up... also, i kinda like that the origin of the mystery of the demi-human is still kinda vague and unknown, but its allusion to human nature is done quite well, considering all the shit in this story.
Kowloon Generic Romance
ch20. it has a nice "nostalgic" vibe, but the dystopian vibes are minuscule. other than the gene terra floating above them, it doesn't really give off fantasy vibes. it's just a slice-of-life romance between two realtor collegues. i mean, there is obviously something wrong with the snake-like director and the fl's missing memories, but the romance is at the forefront here. and personally, it's kinda annoying that she's not really trying to recover her memories despite knowing she doesn't have them, and for what? bc she wants the ml to fall for her current her and not her past self? these emotions are preventing us from getting closer to the core of the plot. and i thought living in Kowloon was terrible. it's crowded, must not be hygienic, dangerous to live in bc of the lack of security and law, and filled with whorehouses, opium parlours, gangsters, etc. but maybe the dystopian aspect is about hiding the dark side to give this illusion that the Kowloon place an adequate place to live in so people won't want to leave...? kinda like 1894, except this place is actually pretty liveable and the main leads lives' arent bad. ch56. it's more interesting than i expected, but mostly about the mystery surrounding this new kowloon illusion and the clones and deceased people living in it. the aspect about the doubles is really downplayed, even seemed trivial, no? like im confused why doubles are living there, how they came to be, why arent the originals doing anything about it? tho, i am confused how people there can live their life nomally cuz based on the image, half of the buildings has been reduced to rubble. also, liking this repeated theme about dwelling in the past cuz of nostagia, not moving forward and change, not being your "absolute self". anyway, no romance yet. ml is still lingering in the past, but ngl the past reko is really an enigma. it must be so difficult for him and bizarre, bc she commited suicide.
