The Horizon

Complete | Jeong ji-hoon | 2019 released

i dont understand tho, why did the homeless man try to rape the girl once he saw the fireflies? she and the boy were eating and cooking the flesh of human corpses. ...I hope the two never lose the light in their eyes. ch 14. the art is amazing, I've never seen a manhwa convey so much hopelessness toward death, despair, tragedy, and sorrow in a backstory. you really can't help but cry for all the characters. it was this backstory that explains why the little girl hadn't forsaken her humanity ch 17. what the actual fuck. it really does send a message tho. death doesnt wait for you to obtain happiness, it'll take u away so quickly and unexpectedly.

no bc this is actually insanely good. it started out as some school life romcom with a mc with trivial superpowers, but then the shift to action drama with the parents/adults' past as the main plotline was so fucking unexpected and perfect. a true masterpiece, if only the art style was better. but i also think making the parents and their kids look so ordinary like normal parents, was a fantastic choice. it made the plot twist so much more unexpected

Banana Fish

as i write this right now, im sobbing my eyes out. i came here expecting the two mcs to be canonically in love with each other, but it turns out ash is more like the protagonist, and eiji is more like his driving force that advances the story, and at best it's stated they perhaps loved each other like lovers, but that's just speculation. still, the story's fucking amazing, and the action is fast-paced, and ash is one of the most resilient mcs I've ever had the pleasure of reading about. i knew it was a tragic ending, and i was prepared to get teary-eyed, but i did not expect that ending. it just made it a lot more sad, bittersweet, and painful, the fact that he could've lived, but chose not to. the author really ripped my heart out in this one.
