All Hail the Sect Leader
the chapters are chort and the pace is pretty fast. so its not very fleshed out, the worldbuilding is decent. it's good for a manhua
I Reincarnated As A Legendary Surgeon
ch 52. it really is an annoying plot device to have an extra oppose the mc bc of jealousy. he should be a smart guy, but why doesn't he know that when it comes to light that the pregnancy is indeed imaginary, he will face severe consequences and even his license might be revoked? what a moron, losing his entire career bc he wanted to one-up the mc.
One Hit Teacher, Master Baek
ch 11. the son and father relationship is sweet and wholesome, but it still feels weird since the soul in the body isn't his son at all... but there's none of that conflicting feelings in the mc nor did the father found something strange with him... ch 23. i am enjoying this much more than i thought. the plot doesn't meander or drag, we established mc's goal in the first 10 chapters, the things he does in the city are not meaningless stuff or filler, and then we are introduced to the overarching mystery, and the following events are all tied to the mystery or mc's goal... the mc himself is cheeky, confident and knows when to insert comedy at the right moments, he's strong but not annoying, and he's so fine too... the secondary characters introduced are great too with pleasing but diverse personalities.... this is so good, basically. ch 32. i knew it. even tho namgoog and peng seemed like antagonist, the former even incurring mc's anger, i didnt hate them. and it turns out that they're not bad, maybe their personality sucks, but they're not comically evil. namgoog may not seem like a "good" teacher, withdrawing his outstretched hand from the problem student and giving up on him, but mc admitted that he was like that before, and namgoog is a dedicated instructor so he def have the capacity to change. im happy there are a multitude of complex charas here. ch 57. bro this is so good, the charas are diverse in background and personality, but still are fleshed out. the events have traces of the blood cult's influence, linking it to the overarching conflict, and mc is gradually discovering more. the mc's growth in power is not the focal point here, but it's rather the students he is helping, and it love it 91
Heavenly Demon Cultivation Simulation
ch 27. meh... it was pretty good, until the...you know. we all know. it's an above-average system manhwa, bc of the unique system. instead of really helping him, it's cold, impersonal, even seems to try to kill him at times by forcing those options... mc is also pretty quickwitted and cautious but that's pretty much his only personality traits. he's bland. the art is really nice, the progress is solid but gradual, but's that pretty much why it's better than its manhwa peers. Other than that, it's a pretty typical manwha where everyone is an asshole to him, and conveniently, the only one who isn't is a powerful beautiful lady who takes an interest in him for no reason. doesn't help that the system is forcing romance either all of a sudden, without any established rapport between them. srsly tho, the stakes for him are so high, I feel the tension for him sometimes; he doesn't have the need or time to be romancing rn. also some plot holes i found: why dont the lord of supreme court just kill him since it's said he doesnt like the mc? he went thru the trouble of sending him and his team to be killed by his ally, reducing his manpower, when he could've just send his secret guard to kill him. and when he found that top-tier martial arts book in earth demon's room it was really really REALLY lucky for him that earth demon, for some reason, despite his high martial arts, couldn't sense him rummaging thru his stuff. and why is that book hidden there without a trap/defense measure to alert him? he's surely not that careless to believe that the hiding place was really gonna be effective? the fact that mc found that book without any sort of mechanism against thieves or actual trouble is SO convenient.
Swordmaster
the pacing is faster than the novel's.
