the characters aren't fleshed out. I don't like her as the mc, I don't see her as a strong female lead (only her physical strength is strong, but she's obnoxious). the men in her 'jewelry box' are so shallow; I don't think they feel love for her, just lust and interest. mc's motivation to become empress is so selfish and shallow. who wouldn't like hot men, but having that as the sole reason is so unbelievably stupid. what will happen to eh empire after she takes over? given her personality, she'll just be flirting with her 'jewels' and neglecting the empire. I usually like harem but the plot is so bland, I found this unbearable to read any further. all the fine details about the characters and development would've made this much more interesting. rather than it being a meaningful and quality story, this is more like the author's wish fulfillment.

he's the type of mc I loathe the most. also, istg these artists don't know how to draw clothes on women. it's annoying how they're trying to pronounce the chest and butt size. of course, there are clothes that are tight on the chest area but I really doubt women with common sense would wear that type of clothes on the job. regarding the plot: it's pretty much much what you expect from a plot that mostly focuses on harem and simple gratifications like face-slapping idiots. sigh, I know the creators produce this kind of comics targeted at young men, but I'm telling you, a well-thought-out plot with fabulous storytelling would bring in more readers from varying age groups and genders.

no plot so far. a horny straight woman's wet dream. at least some make the fl likable, but this isnt.

it's boring. the art is average.

it has a lot of tropes i like-- smart mc (although mc is a bit mary sue), harem, POLITICS, and various chara dynamics and banter. even without reading the novel, i know a lot of detail is being left out in the manhua bc a lot of the scenes's transitions feel very awkward, and it messes up the flow of the story a lot and breaks my immersion. the art is pretty, but it's only good for 'fan art' level of art, not made for storytelling, bc of the framing and camera shots and general flow. the facial expressions and poses sometimes felt incongruent with the dialogue and scene. for example, panels of a single chara showing an emotion/reaction are confusing bc it was incongruent with the previous panel and/or the emphasis was all wrong. they also need to explain how mc gets his knowledge, like the pencillin thing? felt that should be important enough to tie back to mc's character. i enjoy the dynamics of mc and his love interests; some are problematic, but well, i already turned my brain off. but if there is one thing that i find disconcerting, it's mc's age-- he's 17 yo at the start bro. HE'S 17 YO. yet these old men keep lusting after him and flirting with him (talking about the guard and prince of yu). i know age of adulthood is different in ancient china, but christ, why couldn't he be at least 20 yo before the older mls start liking him?? also, i find it hilarious their kisses are censored, but not mc's nipples lol.
