I Love Amy
Her ShimCheong
oh my god. this is possibly the best gl I have ever read. so extremely well-written with practically no wasted scenes, relatable themes and symbolism, perfect pacing and storytelling, fleshed out and complex characters, palpable chemistry and slowburn romance. the author absolutely delivered on this dynamic and gave us more. also, love the inspiration from cinderalla, the allegory of the town mouse and the city mouse, and the elements of the golden turtle and dragon king (tho the myth's story itself has no relevance). also, this is the first time i hated the entire male cast and liked all of the female cast (at least, most of them). tho the drama was a bit over the top, it was very entertaining.
Sukeban to Tenkousei ga Kudaranai Asobi o Suru dake no Hanashi
Getting to Know Grace
i wonder if every historical GL will have most of the male cast as POS. this is the second story I've read with that sort of dynamic.
Sayonara Rose Garden
You Are My Angela
interesting and philosophical but felt pretty shallow. the story's tone is very dreamy and muted, showcased by the text font, the light palette, the focus on the characters' faces and body language, and the lack of background art (except for the sky). and the lack of plot. it felt like the author had an idea about the selfishness of love ('cutting off love one's wings') and took the analogy to a literal level, but expanded little on that. the black-haired girl lamented about her feeble normal human existence, suggesting she envies the angel for her wings, but i don't understand why she is so in love with angel, to the extent she cut off her wings? perhaps she was lonely? it didn't give off that feeling when she was talking with her coworker tho. so i feel that the lack of details on mc's character undercuts the story's message.
Isekai Picnic
sooo good. the horror elements are actually so creepy and terrifying. do not read at night. the romance is super slow-burn, but that confession scene genuinely made me emotional. need more romance. mc need to realize her feelings sooner, bc how are u so attracted to and obsessed with one girl, but not realize it's love?? anyway, i heard this was written by a man so i read this, but the story and plot is great and engaging and the characters are not sexualized and written with layers of nuance.
