First things first, EWWWWW... Why would an MC be so weak minded? The story's full of crap. The guy keeps entering his personal space yet it would take him one kiss to gain a brain cell and push the guy? Wtf? Authors should just quit if their story's like this crap. Awfully developed characters, awfully developed plot... If AUTHORS make both of the characters male but can be also in a straight genre setting, then one of the characters represent a woman. does this mean that authors like these are misogynists? Internalized misogyny? Why potray your gender as weak minded, easily mislead characters? Disturbing ...
