Junjou Drop
Hilarious! And really adorable- this is the kind of shoujo I could read over and over again. None of that chasing after douchebags crap!

An light, entertaining read. Really only scratches the surface of emotions but was still enjoyable to see adults with some level of experience dealing with relationships as adults. I'm curious as to how they went that long without sleeping together, though...it's pretty amazing, isn't it?

Aww I remember reading this story! It was...pretty good I guess. There were quite a few inconsistencies (see comment below) but I find this author has a real gift for connecting parts of her stories in ways you wouldn't expect -the daughter thing really caught me off guard- so I certainly appreciate it for that. But it's nice to see that the author had more noteworthy works than just Red River, even though it is an amazing classic and can never be topped! Comment I posted when I read this a while back: This story went on for longer than it needed to, and had it's fair share of plot points that didn't make sense (Akira's siblings go from trying to kill him to being on his side over the course of maybe 20 pages without much explanation). Not to mention, the heroine was SO wishy washy and went back and forth for so long that I wanted to throw my laptop at a wall!!! And don't even get me started on how casually the "good guys" killed innocent people to accomplish their goals but were so against letting the oni take a few. But, all in all, I'm glad I finished it at least.

Hmm...despite it being only 20 chapters, it still felt too long, though I couldn't think of a way to actually shorten it further. I guess by the time I'd read this, I'd become too familiar with this author's formula (teenage girl is singled out as recipient of some magic/fantastical ability/destiny and must fight against it while falling in love) so this particular story didn't hold that much interest for me. Even at her worst, though, Shinohara Chie is still leagues above a slew of other shoujo mangakas.

Ugh I want to say that Hiro was cold and stuck on himself but, tbh...if my lover was that overzealous all the time, I'd probably pull back and act coldly too. The MC was just a bit too swept up in it.
