Saesang Bring It On! Manhwa
Hwang Mi-ri has a gift for dragging out a mediocre story for volumes without you feeling bored at all. The whole time, no matter how ridiculous the story got (how unfortunate can one girl be?) I just wanted to know what would happen next. By time I realized it, I'd already read 15 volumes lol. It's how she got me with hot blooded woman. I'm addicted
The Moment When a Fox Becomes a Wolf
Hmm...this one was alright. The story was interesting but got a bit convoluted about half way through. When they kept switching the couples around, and people were leaving and coming back as they wanted, I could barely grasp the story anymore. At a certain point, I just started skimming the chapters until things started to make sense again.
He's Dedicated To Roses
This was pretty good- though I'm a sucker for female leads who can fight! But it didn't get dragged on as much as some of her other works so I was pretty satisfied. A nice wrap up, though I do wish we could've gotten a bit more of a happy end after all the trouble they went through. After both of them give up their families and he almost dies he asks her to date him? At least say lovers or ask for an engagement or something?! Good story otherwise
Say Say Say (hwang Mi Ri) Manhwa
Idol Shopping
Once again, I'm all about HMR's works that involve a female lead who can actually fight. And I also happen to like gender bender type mangas so this one was pretty much up my alley. Not to mention, it was done pretty well so I have no complaints
Love Sos Manhwa
Yay for revenge!!!! Really, that was the only thing I enjoyed about this manhwa (and of course, the MC's personality). The romance aspect with the four princes and/or the history of each of them with the girl with swimming eyes really didn't matter to me at all. So of the 10 volumes of this manhwa, only 3-4 actually interested me, but oh how interesting they were!' Side note: I really hate the summaries HMR gives sometimes *read second one for example* It just sounds like absolute gibberish and, half the time, doesn't give you any idea what the story is about.
KareKano
This may have been the first manga I ever completed so it certainly has a special place in my heart. And, boy, what a manga to call my first! Although it seemed to start out so simple and light hearted, this manga really showed itself to be unexpectedly complex. The author did a great job of slowly revealing the dark emotions in all of the characters in a realistic way, like slowly peeling away layers of an onion until you're left with nothing but the raw insides. In fact, this author's greatest talent might be the verisimilitude of her characters; it's like you're watching real live people interact. But I digress. I just wanted to say that this manga will make you laugh, and cry, and reevaluate the way you look at yourself and the people around you. I think it's a great manga to read when entering or leaving adolescence as it serves as a reminder that people are difficult and confusing and cruel, but are rarely evil.
Hot Blooded Woman
Yay female leads who can fight! This was my first ever HMR manhwa aka the rabbit hole to Wonderland. I'm still trying to find my way out lol. But it's good! I preferred the first 12/13 volumes to the second half of the story, but the entire series was fairly interesting. A few of HMR's bad habits do pop up in this story, though, probably due to the length of the series: repetitive scenes with only small differences in between them, trying and failing to be overly philosophical and just sounding confused/high (which was only an issue in the very end), and, of course, her inability to vary the appearances of her characters (2 possible faces, 4 possible hairstyles, 3 possible hair colors = 24 possible distinguishable characters, any more and you can't tell them apart). All in all, it was a really good series and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
