Lovely Complex
This is always a classic- so well done. I really loved Risa's character design from her stupid faces to her heartbroken moments, I felt myself becoming more and more enamored with her. Otani was pretty thick-headed and douchey the whole time (the scene towards the end where he let another girl sleep over wtf?!!) but I get the feeling he really came to like her in the end.
Nanaco Robin
I rated this so highly mostly because of the main character; I find her absolutely hilarious! And, as someone, with a bit of an older sister complex myself, I completely understand her do or die determination to protect her nee-san. Main guy was an idiot, but he was funny! The ending was a bit...rushed I suppose? I'm surprised it jumped to him being engaged so quickly but it was funny to imagine her as something like a professional wedding crasher lol.
Benkyou Shinasai! (nakahara Aya)
Hmm...how do I say this? This was just silly, and not in a good way. It's like it tried too hard to be so stupid it's funny but ended up just being really stupid instead? The main character was dumb to the nth degree, not just "I don't study well" dumb but "I'll confess 100x to a guy who says I'm a bother, apologize about it, and repeat" dumb. And the main guy (really all the male leads in this manga) was so wishy washy it was annoying. It's like they were waiting for the girl to make the first move, otherwise they would never have done anything. The other pairings happened in a heartbeat, as if they completely forgot their feelings for someone else once some random person came out of the woodwork (with a shoddy backstory) and said I like you. All in all, it just seemed poorly thought out. The side story wasn't that bad, wish it were in a different manga so I could have enjoyed it properly.
Ringo Nikki
I liked this one. It was simple and seemed to focus more on her living than the romance, which I was strangely in the mood for.
Crossroad
SPOILER!!!! Like everyone else in the comments, I really had preferred her with sensei. It's not that I'm against her relationship with NAtsu, I just don't think it was ever healthy. I never really saw the transition from childhood bond into adult love, so it was hard to tell where the MC's childish selfishness/sibling love ended and romance began, which made their relationship really unclear for me. I don't mind that they ended up together, I just wished she'd really and honestly tried to go out with sensei and tried to love him, instead of just using him as a replacement father. I'm also not too big on when stories end with a time skip that shows everything wrapping up super neatly- like all of a sudden everyone's married and happy. It's the pain they overcome to become happy that I find more worthwhile to read so it's sort of like a cop out to just give a picture perfect ending lol. But, all in all, it was a peaceful read- I think it expressed the impatience of a teenager really well.
Honey Bunny
Didn't like it. The guy was an asshole in the beginning and an asshole at the end and the girl selfishly chased after him like an idiot. And I'm certainly not taking his side, but if someone explicitly tells you to leave them alone and that you're a bother, selfishly trying to force your feelings onto them isn't love; it's an unhealthy obsession. I just couldn't find anything to like about this manga, unfortunately.
