Doushiyoumo Nai Keredo
Ugh why is this series over?!!!!! TT_TT
Sprout
Spoiler alert! It was okay, though I didn't care much for the male lead (wishy washy guys like him tend to annoy me though). Not to mention, his feelings seemed to come out of nowhere at the end; it looked more like he shifted his attention to the MC after getting dumped than organically developing feelings for and chasing after her. It also didn't help that I really fell in love with the senpai's character, especially once he started pulling strings behind the shadow to mess with the main guy in the pettiest ways lol! I'm just glad things seemed to work out for him in the end!
Taiyou Wa Kimi Ni Kagayaku
I really liked that the main story didn't focus so much on the romance, but on their growth as people. And the extra story provided all the cute romance tension I needed to feel satisfied. So well done! ^^
Gyu Tte Shite Ii
I found myself getting a little annoyed at the resolution for this one- wonder why? Maybe I was just irritated by how quickly their feelings for each other took a 180, She went from hating guys to realizing she was head over heels for him in less than 12 hours!!!!
Kamisama Onegai! (MITSUKI Kako)
Cute. That's pretty much it.
Hajimete Ageru!
What separates a good short story from a bad one when dealing with 30 pages or less is being able to generate an emotional reaction from the readers. This story didn't have that at all, and the times when it did try to show an emotional shift in the characters, the story was bogged down by the odd pacing and inconsistent dialogue. Also, I don't get the obsession with the whole "first boyfriend" thing. Did he say that when he confessed or something? It seemed like everyone's focus was on that but it didn't make any sense for the girls to claim that was the only reason he was dating her. I mean, he was at least a year older than her; you're telling me there were no girls in his grade who never dated before?
Koishiteru!?
I liked the art but the stories annoyed me a bit; it seems like the guys just did whatever they wanted, relentlessly pursuing the ukes and forcing themselves on them, only to be forgiven because they just happened to fall magically in love. Also, the translation of the story surrounding the second couple was a bit difficult to understand- even though I got the main points, there were a lot of sentences that just plain didn't make sense.
Chizumi & Fujiomi
It was fine I guess? The main couple was cute, though I'm not too sure how they managed to stay together so long. They just didn't seem like the sort of couple that spoke to each other or did anything sexual so I'm curious how they managed to grow up together. I just wish the antagonists had more substance to them. They were so pointlessly evil it was just boring. I wish the author used people less as plot points and spent the space exploring their relationship.
Hiren Trip
Ugh I'm so disappointed! The setup in the last chapter was so interesting- way more interesting than the rest of the story, which was just a typical boring shoujo about a girl relentlessly chasing after a guy who used her for his own benefit. Really wish the author had condensed the first 7 chapters into 2 and used the extra 5 elaborate on the whole coup scenario.
