Seinen wa Ai o Kou

Complete | HINO Garasu | 2000 released

This author has a talent for painting things bittersweet, so that even when the characters are happy, you feel their anxiety over how the future will turn out. I particularly like how she shows their envy of women and rejection of themselves due to their sexuality. Tres bien!

Boo! They got back together too quickly! Good for the uke gaining some self-confidence, though.

Gekkou No Rankan Ni Kuchinashi No Nioi

Complete | Takaku Shouko | 2002 released

The last chapter raised a pretty interesting concept about souls and reanimation and whatnot. I'm curious that the MC wanted to make an artificial body for Takeshi- once you die, you can possess any empty body however many times you want?

Hmm...it was alright? Some of the stories were funny (the two delinquents one was downright hilarious) but the rest were rather dull. Not much in the way of emotion, either. Just short stories to make you giggle to yourself a bit and move on.

Wakabaryou de, Kimi to

Complete | SAKUMOTO Ayu | 2014 released

A nice, cute, simple shounen ai/bl story. Nothing particularly remarkable, but the couples leave you with a soft feeling.

Orange (takano Ichigo)

Complete | takano ichigo | 2000 released

Oh good just so touching! I knew this would be a great story from the first 3 chapters, and it just kept hitting with the emotional punches all the way to the end! TT_TT I still feel...not let down, but I do wish we had seen a bit more of Kakeru overcoming his demons and moving on a bit more since, even at the end, he was still a bit unstable. But the way it ended was also very meaningful, since we did see that he had the desire to keep on living. Guess I just wanted to watch them all grow up a lil longer. This must be how parents feel lol

I stopped reading at 40th chapter but am not putting it in dropped because I'd finish it if I were less bored/tired. But, as it is, the end is pretty predictable, and I don't feel like watching the main couple flounder about for 7 more chapters just to finally date properly. Only wish for Zen to be happy with the bishoujo. And maybe the dad to get some comeuppance for being a perennial asswipe. But, overall, it wasn't bad. Despite the fact that it was built on a pretty shaky premise (who the hell goes to live with 3 strangers?), it had its funny moments. It did drag on (I thought chapter 24 was only a few chapters out from the end lol), but it comes with the territory I guess.

Going to You

Complete | Han Yu-rang | 2008 released

I guess it's okay for one of HMR's manhwas? A bit dull and very little actual resolution but I'm kind of just glad that she didn't put out another 14 volume series that would have ended after 6 had the author not drudged up pointless side character after character.

Really cute and sweet! I do wish the author spent more time hashing out the past life drama though. It was such a promising backdrop to the story!

The plot seemed a little...out there? Ridiculous? But still enjoyable. The mangaka did a great job pulling out the characters' emotions though, and seemed to have a real knack for painting dark emotions onto a seemingly lighthearted plot. As such, I find it rather difficult to classify this as shoujo, or even josei. The ending was definitely very rushed, which was a disappointment after all the emotional buildup beforehand. The scene with Setsu's email was absolutely beautiful and heartwrenching, though, and had me sobbing for longer than I'd like to admit. TT_TT
