Umineko No Naku Koro Ni Episode 2: Turn Of The Golden Witch
Hmm..things got a bit confusing in the final chapter and the setup in the beginning was pretty boring, though I understand why the author did it. [Spoiler] I'm curious as to why Battler got back up though? Didn't he already admit defeat? And it's not as if he figured anything out, so does he just want to be tortured again?
Say Say Say (hwang Mi Ri) Manhwa
The Moment When a Fox Becomes a Wolf
Hmm...this one was alright. The story was interesting but got a bit convoluted about half way through. When they kept switching the couples around, and people were leaving and coming back as they wanted, I could barely grasp the story anymore. At a certain point, I just started skimming the chapters until things started to make sense again.
Saesang Bring It On! Manhwa
Hwang Mi-ri has a gift for dragging out a mediocre story for volumes without you feeling bored at all. The whole time, no matter how ridiculous the story got (how unfortunate can one girl be?) I just wanted to know what would happen next. By time I realized it, I'd already read 15 volumes lol. It's how she got me with hot blooded woman. I'm addicted
Ways Of The Jogang Jicheo Manhwa
I liked it, despite the fact that the main guy was a demanding asshole. Not much else to say; it's a pretty typical HMR/HYR series complete with all the tropes: guy still in love with beautiful friend who is dating someone else (usually former friend of guy's), said guy falling for main heroine and being screwed over by the main guy and his crush, multiple girls after main guy because he's super rich (and personalities don't matter once your parents have money, apparently), etc...boring
Oko-sama Star
It was a nice story and the characters were cute but the art seemed messy somehow. By that I mean the artistic extras (like the blushes and sweat droplets) were so excessive I found it difficult to focus on the story. I guess I would have preferred if the art were a bit cleaner?
The Rules of Love
A very realistic portrayal of what happens when a woman dating a fuckboy finally wises up and moves on. It even got the entitlement and guiltlessness of the guy down pat. Only thing I really didn't like about the story was the fact that her "moving on" didn't really happen until she found someone else. it's as if the author was trying to say she couldn't really get over him until she dated someone else which, after seeing her strength in refusing him, disappointed me a bit.
Kimi No Sei
Started off kind of promising, with the heroine wanting to get revenge for her past, though she was an absolute idiot in the way she went about it (popular boyfriend + zero guy experience = obviously falling in love). But then the story quickly deteriorated into a sloppy, jumbled mess. The worst part is, the author goaded me into anticipating a potential hookup with the professor (I'm such a sucker for mature, intelligent guys!) only to drop that plot point as soon as I got excited. Boo! And don't even get me started on the stalker girl and her creepy sis-con brother with undue resentment towards Takaya. Ugh and that cheesy line about not turning them in because they also wanted to "protect their loved ones" was ridiculous. Not only did the girl literally say she wanted to see Takaya hurt, the guy who actually hit Yurina over the head was some random dude! Who the hell was he protecting?!! All in all, an average read but with enough wasted potential to disappoint me.
