Love Is An Illusion
Wow, it took me so long to finish this manga (not because i didn't want to read, i was busy) but I finally did it! It has a lot of flaws, I'll admit but it's still SO FUCKING GOOD! I mean, I guess people judge a lot Hye Sung, but let's a take a look on his life. First, he has a tragic past. His father was so toxic and his mother left him and no one ever cared for him. Then, he spent his whole life thinking he was an alpha when he was an omega all the time, so he didn't even know himself anymore at some point. He was too naive and people tried to scam him. AND THEN he got pregnant and he didn't want the child! He wasn't even totally conscious when he had sex with Dojin for the first time and it wasn't Dojin's fault either because he put on a condom (tho it took a bit of time). Dojin convinced him to have the baby, but can you imagine what it was like to Hye Sung to try and accept this baby at such an early age when he didn't have an good example of parents and he didn't know Dojin for a long time? Well, of course he did some wrong things... like, I thought it was unnecessary of him fleeing after Dojin found him and him trying to have sex with that random alpha he found (but maybe the author thought that scene was necessary to point out that Dojin and Hye Sung had bonded). Still, I didn't like the way she explained the bonding. Tho I like the idea of being formed unconsciously, in the manga it says that they don't have to love each other necessarily, only feel affection for each other even for just a moment but that just feels a bit wrong (?) And when Hye Sung came back to Dojin because he discovered that it seemed more like he came back out of necessity (because he would get weaker if he wasn't with Dojin) than out of his own feelings of love. Of course, I know that they love each other but still... Anyway, Dojin did some shitty things as well like forcing himself on Hye Sung sometimes (and it was more than once) but he tried to make up for it and Hye Sung forgave him so I guess i'mma let it slide. Overall, I guess the story is not that complex but not that shallow either. And I really like the second couple too. But THANK GOD the manga didn't end without Hye Sung expressing his feelings openly for Dojin. Hye Sung is a tsundere, that's all. They are really happy together and they will overcome things as a family. Didn't think i would say that but it's actually one of my favs.
Golden Sparkle
When I first read the sinopsis i thought that it was going to be one of those stories "my friend - for some reason - jerked me off and i caught feelings for him" but it wasn't quite like that. I mean, the way the author built the story around this trope was totally different. Gaku didn't really have interest in girls when he was younger and respected them more than the other guys did, so when the guys noticed it they excluded him. The girls wanted to be with him so he went along with it because he didn't want to be alone. Later, he found out that he was more interested in guys (PRECIOUS BABY). Himari was scared of girls because of that childhood experience, his father wasn't around, he skipped sex education classes and overall he wasn't really interested in girls either and so he didn't fit in with the other guys too (i guess we can assume that he's also gay (?)) IN THE END, THEY FIT EACH OTHER SO WELL THAT I WANNA CRY. The part when Gaku is pushing Himari away because he's trying to protect Himari from being teased by others and being excluded like he was during middle school is beautiful and sad because we see the prejudice and how it interferes in their thoughts and lives. And don't even get me started on the art MAN GAKU AND HIMARI JUST HIT DIFFERENT THEY ARE *CHEF'S KISS* ARGHH I LOVE THEM. ALSO, MAN... GAKU IS THICC, BIG DICK ENERGY!
Ookami he no Yomeiri
OKAY LET'S DO THIS!! So, when I first saw the cover and the story I thought this was going to be very cliché. But, it totally surprised me IN A GOOD WAY. AND IT WAS REALLY GOOD. So, first I thought that Kaede would be the type to sulk all the way to the cerimony and be mad at the wolves (which he didn't, he wanted to be happy and was doing his best to accept and adapt to the situation). Then, I thought that Ren was just cold and had no interest in the marriage because his temper was like that. You know, like "ugh my parents are forcing me to do this so let's get over with this shit" (and it also wasn't like that because he had been taking pills to numb his emotions ever since he was little and he grew up isolated). I also thought the cousin would be a bastard that would ruin their relationship and jump on Kaede but he really didn't. I truly believe that he was just trying to relieve Kaede from the pain of the aphrodisiacs. Oh, and I kept thinking that Ren was a total idiot for leaving Kaede just like that (I mean at first he really neglected him) but in the end he was just trying to hold back (i mean, can you blame him??). One detail that i didn't really like about the manga is that Kaede had sex with Ren while he was in beast form, THAT I didn't like at all and also, in the beginning i felt a bit troubled because Kaede looks too much like a child but I got used to his appearance in the end and I'm gonna let these slide because everything else is really good. The plot is not so original but the way it was conducted is. Also, the art is beautiful and the background of the story such as the traditions of the wolf clan, their work, the minor characters... everything is so detailed that it's amazing. And I really like the way the story and their feelings progressed, like it wasn't rush and you could feel their gradual changes. I just really recommend this manga!!
Escape Journey
Wow, okay... This was a rollercoaster!! I'm so glad I reread it! To reread stories are really the best to understand it all. But, i gotta say... I have complicated feelings towards this manga. It's really realistic, their feelings and their daily life. It's amazing! The art as usual is awesome too! But, there are a few things that I don't like. So, for me Taichi is far from being a great seme. In my opinion, in those three big fights they had, it was all Taichi's fault. First, he said that horrible thing to Naoto that made them break up in high school. Second, he FUCKING RAPED HIM. And although he realized what he was doing and looks like the whole thing didn't last long, it was horrible and he should've apologized A WHOLE LOT MORE THAN HE DID (he only said sorry through a text (?)) and that's something i can't forgive nor forget. And third, he kept thinking things too much and didn't share with Nao and pushed him away (tho this is the least bad of the other things he did). So, my liking to Taichi is not high. Also, we didn't get to see them going to the onsen trip nor the graduation trip which was frustating. But, I also want to point out some good things. The chat Taichi had with his mom just hits different. It's really good tho short. And, man I totally can relate to Nishina. Who hasn't wished for someone to break up or had their heart broken. Man, that sentence he said "i just cant bless other people's happiness" it's echoing in my mind because i'm like that. Damn, that's sad but oh well. ANYWAY, PETITION TO GIVE MY BABY NISHINA A MAN PLEAAAASEE. I like the fact that they told their families but towards the ending, the quality of scans and the translation was getting worse and worse, so i'm not sure their talks were complete and i really wanted to see that. But oh well piracy what can you do about it. In general, it's a great story full of ups and downs just like life and love. Oh, and I just want to say that i love the title. It really is a escape journey because in so many moments they wanted to escape or really escaped from (avoided) their feelings, conversations, situations but in the end they stopped doing that and faced everything head on. Beautiful! Also, interesting fact: the music Circles by Post Malone suits them so much!! Just listen.
High School Lala Love
OH MY GOD I'M SQUEAKING RIGHT NOW I CAN'T STOP I'M SERIOUS!!!! This manga is so cute!!!!!! First of all, i totally can relate to Hinata. He's so desperate to find love and he's so naive in a way and earnest. Aki's so hot and i thought he was going to be one of that tease guys, but he's honest too and kind!! I simply love the fact that they are both virgins and i got kinda of sad that Aki's two years older (i think) and he's going to college and Hinata's in high school (but that's okay because that means they can have kinky uniform sex lol i'm such a perv help!!). The story is just so cute, it has the right pace, it's healthy, it's slice of life (well sort of because it's just too good to be true but oh well) I LOVE IT THEY HAVE A PLACE IN MY HEART. Oh, but i'm super sad that they didn't have sex i mean the author was implying sexual things all the time so i thought they would get it on JESUS i need extras on my desk by tomorrow! ALSO, I like Aki's brother too! I thought he was going to be a pain but he's actually funny and is even cheering for them to be together! OH AND LET'S TALK ABOUT RYU AND HINATA'S AMAZING FRIENDSHIP! I LOVE THEM LIKE THIS AND GIVE RYU A MAN YOU COWARDSS!! ANYWAYS THE STORY IS HEARTWARMING I LOVE THIS COUPLE I LOVE AKI, I LOVE HINATA, GOD BLESS!
Bokura no Tsuzuki
OH MY GAWD HELP I'M DROWNING IN SO MUCH CUTENESS WSHWHSWHSHWHSW SERIOUSLY THIS IS AMAZING. It's a simple story of love between high schoolers honestly you know JUST MY TYPE. They are MEANT for each other. Nanase had already heard about Sakurai, it was like fate. The fact that he was just shy and always wanted to act tough in front of Sakurai was so cute. AND THEY ARE SUCH GOOD BOYS TOO. I'm so sad that Nanase was lonely in his childhood. His parents were busy a lot and made Nanase take all those lessons and tho they wanted to make him not feel lonely it backfired. BUT SAKURAI WAS RIGHT THERE FOR HIM AND WILL ALWAYS BE. Their growing feelings and them slowly becoming close was so smooth. AND THE ART IS AMAZING DAMN I GOT BUTTERFLIES ALL OVER MY STOMACH. MASTERPIECE.
Hello, Melancholic!
Oh man, alright, humm, i'm not ready to end this yet. SHIT. I LOVE THEM. First of all, it's so hard to find a good yuri. This one has great art and a unique plot. The story is so good, it really focus on the characters' feelings. I love how we get to see them changing their way of thinking and expressing. The main couple is really easy to understand and they are so adorable. BUT YOU KNOW ME the second couple oh man has got me good but they are bit complicated HA. I wanna say a few things about them that bothered me a bit. Sakiko and Chika's relationship in the beginning seemed a little toxic to me. Chika just did whatever Sakiko wanted and Sakiko became too dependent of Chika too, she didn't care about anything else. They were both really lonely and i assumed it was because Chika's dad wasn't around and her mom worked a lot and Sakiko on the other hand had a rich family which probably neglected her, only cared about appearances... That was the part i didn't like it, i'm assuming things because we never got Sakiko's pov and Chika really explaining her family situation... i really would like to see these. But i believe that their relationship was grown and the fact that they are going to different universities is a proof of it. They are going to live their life but still TOGETHER. Like Minato said, they are not only looking at each other anymore, they are looking in the same direction. THIS RIGHT HERE IS SO MEANINGFUL. The whole manga is and i love it. And it could have more chapters, it would be great! I don't know why it isn't popular. ALSO, WHY DIDN'T WE GET TO SEE EMA'S LOVER I WANNA KNOW WHO IT IS SO BAAAAAD aaaaa ALSO THE FACT THAT EACH CHAPTER TITLE IS A SONG .... G E N I U S
Cupid ni Rakurai
Oh man they are so cute!!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! I love how in the second volume it was not that cliche thing where Ao was jealous of Shingo practicing the dance with the girl and how the girl wasn't even going to confess to him, she liked his friend. And then we got Shingo misunderstanding things and being jealous of Ao. I'm guessing that Takeo really started liking Ao right, since he said some things like "I lost huh" and stuff. This part i didn't like it. Anyway I love how Shingo and Ao couldn't explain why they liked it each other at first, but they really knew what they liked about each other. Man, when you're in love, i guess that everything the other person does is more reason to like them. It was interesting when Shingo thought that maybe Ao was on that suspension bridge effect and Ao tried to overcome his fear to show that it wasn't it. Even if he wasn't afraid anymore he would still want to be with Shingo. And Shingo also thought like "maybe anyone could do what i did, help him" the truth is anyone could that first time, but it was HIM so. Like they said, we can't keep on focusing on the what ifs because when things happen, they just happen in a certain way, with a certain person, in a certain time. That's how it is. And then they created that bond and developed feelings for each other, and then of course Ao wouldn't want another person. OKAY SO I heard that Takeo has his own story with his friend, glasses kun... I'm looking forward to it!! I think my ranking on her stories are Golden sparkle (BECAUSE I'M TOO WEAK FOR THEM), these babies right here from cupid ni rakurai and Darlin Iikagen ni shiya gare. I would give Cupid ni rakurai 4.5 stars.
