I rather liked this one, because while it's nice to see the man run after his misunderstood wife and make up with her in the end, there is something to be said for a woman who won't give up on her man. It takes strength to recognize that it's a relationship you don't want to let go and that you are going to work for it even if the other partner isn't all on board at the moment. Kudos to the FL!

The Wealthy Greek's Contract Wife

Complete | Penny jordan,Tomomi yamashita | 2019 released

The cousin got indicted, so why was the villa was still donated? She had worked so hard on it, to restore it and make it a home. I know it was supposed to 'prove his love', that he now loved her more than a building, but to me it almost felt like he was throwing away all the love she had initially poured into him through the villa. I would have rather had him OFFER to donate it -'I love you more than the villa, see, I've already signed the paperwork to donate it. Please come back to me. Wherever you are is my home now!' - 'Then our home is the villa, because I've come to love it too and I want to live there with you and our child.' - or he could have made a big deal about putting her name on the deed or commissioned a new painting or something. But as far as his personality... yeah, he was a jerk, but there was a logical learning curve considering. His last blowup was extreme, but even that was logical, and when she realized the danger, she stopped trying to defend herself. He didn't really drive her out. She left for his sake, and after she did, he felt he had to justify it to protect his heart, but even so, he kept looking. I felt like it was a reasonably good resolution, IMO. Best yet, no BBV (Bed Before Vows). It's sad this marriage healthy trait is prevalent only in forced and arranged marriage plots.

Somebody needed to talk to that boy. At first I was annoyed with her... he said he was willing to wait until she loved him... that's respect! That's saying he WANTS you to love him! So what does she conclude? He's marrying me for my fortune. FACE PALM! But once she arrived, he's the one I wanted to slap. No honeymoon to woo her? No time spent for her to get to know you? In the garden ALONE with your old friend? And you want her to fall in love with you?!? Just how, may I ask? He gets all mad when she wants to live in her family home away from him, and I wanted her to say, 'When were we ever together when I was in your home? Meals alone. You aways at work and spending time with Francesca. We were already living separately.' But no, she says nothing. Guy tries to intervene and explain to her his issues, but you think he could have said something to HIM. The man was just clueless. I'm not really sure how they managed to fall in love at all. It must have been in principal, because they didn't really spend the time together needed to build a believable relationship. Going forward looks good, but... yeah.

I didn't like that the FL handed out her virginity before getting married, but other than that it was a better than normal Harlequin. It had some drama and an unexpected twist as well.

I wanted to like this so much more than I did. So many wholesome characters, reasonable emotions, and a promising plot. It really didn't need the BBV (Bed Before Vows). It was made a big part of the plot, but this story really didn't need it and would have, IMO, could have been made a richer, deeper romance without it.

SUMMARY: Although she wasn’t the one who poisoned the Dr’s eye drops and blinded him, she delivered them and still feels responsible, so when she learns the reclusive ex-doctor - now living on a tropical island - is looking for a secretary, she applies. NOTES: I’m a little confused. A doctor blinded and only two nurses involved, but they never determined the guilty party and brought her to justice? The FL was accused by the other, but it would seem neither was convicted of this chemical assault. That didn’t make sense to me, but the rest of the story wasn’t bad. Liked that the doctor was so strong and independent despite his blinding. I can only hope, if I ever face such a trial, that I can be so strong and adaptive.

SUMMARY: After being kidnapped from her wedding reception, she discovered not all was as it seemed, but that doesn't change the fact, that she is now being held as a hostage in return for another man's lover. And the man holding her claims to be heartless and cruel, but the more time she spends with him, the less she's convinced. This story had a lot of details crammed in its pages, but it had a good flow, and didn't get bogged down. Only couple things I didn't like, although both are biggies in my book: 1) It didn't need the BBV (Bed Before Vows). 2) The quality of the scan makes it hard to read.

A whole Lotta love wrapped up from different angles here - good love, bad love, misguided love, twisted love, and the wholesome sort that tries to straighten out what it can. Really good story.

(4*)- Definitely better the second time around. I rather liked this one, but then reconciliation themes are a favorite of mine. There was definite growth in both characters - she grew a backbone; he softened his heart and opened his eyes. And it was rather novel how she got to see her husband, and what he thought of his “late” wife through the eyes of a “stranger”. I appreciated how he regretted losing his wife so much that the joy of recovering her wholly eliminated any anger he might have felt over her deception. It was touching to see the once cold as ice hero with tears in his eyes. I think the only thing I disliked was what we DIDN’T get to see. The hero originally drove her away and won full custody using the report supplied by a private detective who created evidence to prove she was having an affair. When she first moved back in, it was clear that the hero still believed what the report had said, although he’d began to understand how his past behavior/attitude had hurt her. After her identity was revealed, it was clear he must have been so glad to have her back that her forgave her infidelity instantly, because it wasn’t mentioned again. But I didn’t want her forgiven. I wanted her exonerated and the detective punished. Someone willing to manufacture evidence to destroy another person’s life or reputation for money needs to be dealt with for complete satisfaction. Other than that, I have to say I enjoyed the story and the art.
