100% Perfect Girl
82 chapters in 11 uploads - A truly torturous romance that stretches credulity for the sheer pride, stubbornness and denseness levels displayed by the romancing couple, while still managing to turn into a decent romance with a lovely ending. If angsty situations make you tear up, keep a tissue handy, but be prepared for some interesting characters, some over the top relational awkwardness and eye rolling before you start smiling at 'happily ever after'.
Pregnant with the Prince's Child
This was a pretty good story. We have memory loss on top of a lot of the standard fair - corrupt relatives, assumptions, distrust, manipulation, hard feelings, secrets ( in this case, not just a hidden past, but whole secret lives and a marriage), and such (although we skipped the rival love interest), but none of them are overplayed. Instead there is just enough to keep the story tense and moving without bogging it down. Another thing I can appreciate is the baby was sired in wedlock, even if the hero doesn't remember. I thought it was a good story.
Rider on Fire
I always wonder, when I read stories like this, how well the author/ artist has researched the culture they are representing and how accurate the dipiction is. In this case, because its an adaption, there are two chances to fail/succeed but sadly I don't know enough to guage which it is. This one, at least, is positive and honoring of its subject, unlike others that fail to do that out of simple apathy. As far as the story, I was disappointed by the diliberate BBV (Bed Before Vows), and thrown off a little by the cobra (that's not a North American snake, which would have fit better, but I suppose it IS a snake *shrug*), but the rest of the story was interesting. It had a bit of a superficial feel, but I take that to mean the novel was likely more complex so the artist had to leave a lot behind. Despite that, it was a cohesive, well paced story.
Stone Angel
In some ways typical - strong loving heroine butting heads with an rich, arrogant, emotionally tortured-past hero, and throw in 2 cute kids for her to nanny, a dash of disapproval from the matriarch and an episode with a jealous brother and you have the main elements down, but this story does a good job torturing the heroine and coming up with good reasons to foil her escapes before we get a seriously good apology from the hero and a happy ending, all without any emotionally confusing BBV [Bed Before Vows], and believe me, this couple needs a strong, stable foundation to their relationship before they add hormones to the mix .
