Tears Of The Renegade
A lackluster tale of revenge with the FL caught up in the middle used as a pawn, guilted into selling her inheritance, bedded and rejected, accused of being loose, ignored when she wanted to talk... yeah, that's a wonderful way to start a romance.
Dark Intentions
SUMMARY: A rich, seeminly arrogant, CEO lost his sight in a car accident and he isn't taking it very well. Having gone through all the specialist, his doctor take a new tact and brings in someone to teach him how to cope with his blindness instead. But this woman has a past with him few know of. Can she help him adjust to this world of darkness before her past catches up to her and leaves her unable to finish repaying the debt she owes. Except for the uneeded (IMO) BBV [Bed Before Vows], there was a lot to like about this story. Going blind isn't easy. Being a major mover and shaker in the business world and going blind would likely have felt emasculating, and so all that rage and frustration and fear gets channeled into proving that feeling wrong to your self and the world at large at the expense of those around you and beneath you. I can feel for the ML, and that was a rough circumstance for the FL to be thrown into, but gratitude is a great motivator (although I think she would put herself out there for any client). It was an interesting twist that he unconsciously knew who she was but didn't realize it until the end. Overall, it was a good story. I just think it would have been better without the BBV, especially considering her history.
