Worth reading. Worth sharing.

Her Little White Lie

Complete | Maisey yates,Yutta narukami,Harlequin | 2019 released

I love the art and the story was heartwarming. The only thing that would have improved it for me was if they had waited. To a degree, I suppose it could be argued that it’s hard to apply real life statistics, which say bed before vows increases a marriages chances of failing, to contractual marriages of convenience since love and emotions are not at the foundation of the commitment, but I still think it wiser to wait. That being said, when did real life statistics have ANYTHING to do with Harlequins.

Alissa's Miracle

Complete | Ginna gray,Tomoko takakura | 2019 released

I enjoyed this on so many levels. I loved how he could offer a sincere and honest, "Sorry" when he realized he was in the wrong. I loved how he treasured her and waited until after they were married. I loved how he let himself be changed by her faith in him. I loved how he realized he really couldn't move forward until he had dealt with his past and did so. I loved how he realized how blessed he was, and expressed that as well. This plot was pretty simple and had none of the 'standard' Harlequin complications, but it was really sweet and touching. It's being added to my BEST list!

The Billionaire Claims His Wife

Complete | Marito ai,Amy andrews | 2019 released

I really liked this one. Both leads are strong and respectable (but I'll give the FL top billing). It was honest issues that drove them apart, but the FL paved the way for their reconciliation with her independance and her wisdom, and I liked that too. I also liked - A LOT - that the ML showed that men are in control of their hormones and NOT the other way around! There was a lot to like in this story and the art was icing on the cake! Worth reading!

Very sweet. No BBV (Bed Before Vows). No OW/OM or manipulative relatives. Just first loves lost, and the process of refinding them.

Hired: Nanny Bride

Complete | Cara colter,Tomoko takakura | 2019 released

This has to be one of the best Harlequin I ever read. If you're one of those that likes the convoluted drama of OM /OW /manipulating families/ relationship wrecking misunderstandings and such, this one might not be for you, but if you like a straight forward romance of a man and a woman being thrown together by circumstances and developing a strong, lasting bond, then you should like this one. And best yet, this bond is not based on BBV (Bed Before Vows). Even better, the heroine knows WHY she doesn't want a marriage starting with BBV, and the hero, in spite of having been a playboy, respects/ loves her enough to honor her choice! (I wonder if there is a story out there where the desire to wait is two-sided?. It’d be nice if the hero weren’t always playboys. Contrary to Harlequin opinion, guys CAN control themselves) This is a marriage with a high likelihood of success, even based on RL statistics! We need more romances like this.

The Desert Prince's Convenient Bride

Complete | Meredith webber,Marito ai | 2019 released

I can't say its completely original - kinda standard theme: Forgein child becomes the only heir to the throne and 'mom' has to marry his guardian to stay with him, but its also adapted by one of my favorite mangaka who really knows how to make a story flow and whose art is beautiful, but on top of it, we have a ML in control of himself and no BBV (Bed Before Vows) that we know of. Certianly none depicted. That's makes for an enjoyable 'The End' for me because I know couples that wait, are, statistically (based on RL), more likely to have a longer, more satisfying marriages.

The Larkswood Legacy

Complete | Nicola cornick,Chisato nakamura | 2019 released

This was a nice one with just a bit of misunderstanding, intrique, bad family, and suspicion but it never goes over the top (well, except for the bad family, but its not overused). All the above, generally excessive elements, are intertwined in appropriate amounts to weave together an enjoyable story, and what put the icing on this cake for me was there was no BBV (Bed Before Vows).

Rescued by A Millionaire

A really sweet tale about a troubled 'knight in shining armor' forced by circumstances to come to the rescue of two charming young ladies stranded in the middle of nowhere by a greedy relative. Despite a few heavy elements, this story is as sweet and fluffy as whipped cream (without BBV [Bed Before Vows]) and is satisfyingly concluded with the promise of everyone getting what they deserve.

An exceptional story adapted by one of my favorite artists. It's one of the few that will end up on my BEST list in spite of the BBV [Bed Before Vows].
