A perfect example of how your brain can create an entire false narrative just based off of what you've seen. That poor boy was traumatized for life over something that didn't actually happen. Even after he learned it wasn't true, it'd been an entire decade. He couldn't just erase his traits of ptsd. So sad, but also heartwarming that he learned the truth and could now start living his life. The fact that he exposed himself to reliving his trauma for the sake of moving on so he could finally be with someone he liked was a really big move. This story was more about trauma and psychology than anything else. That's why this one will probably stick with me. I think the reason it's rated low is merely because people expected more romance, sex, and basically whatever *sells*. Instead, this story is about facing trauma and finding his happy ending. Though apparently I am a hypocrite because I did rate it 3 stars instead of 4 merely because the portrayal and progression of his relationship was poor, though I literally just explained why romance was not the point of the story. The tags still list it as "romance" though, so I'm a bit salty... but that's on me for trusting the tags I guess. Overall, it has a decent storyline.. but I don't plan on rereading it in the future.
