Night Milk Heads
This would've been so much better if the plot was more well written. The backgrounds weren't fully explained and left a lot of questions. I noticed a lot of other readers feel the same and are just as confused as I am about the same things. (I also learned that this was the mangaka's first manga, so the holes in the plot make sense I guess. Their art style is really good for it being their first manga though)
Wakudeki Midnight
The only reason this isn't good is Aoi the asshole. He is a strange character that is bad, but not really bad?? Boy just has a different set of emotions and mindset than the average person. Toxic asf tho. Aside from him, and the parts of the story revolving around his toxic choices, the story is actually okay. The true top is really very good to the uke and I honestly love them together. The cliche of already knowing the uke prior, etc. was there, but I wasn't too annoyed about it. I actually enjoyed this read in the end, because their relationship was so healthy and the top is surprisingly loveable. I was shocked there was no r*pe in this, especially because it has this type of plot. See?!?!? You can write it without r*pe!! Authors take notes!! Also, I really loved the portrayal of the uke's mindset revolving Aoi. How toxic love, desperation, lack of self respect, was shown here. How lost you can be in someone and surrender yourself to them despite it being unhealthy. It was a very accurate portrayal. I loved that the top wanted to save him from that and protect him. In the end, he was shown what real love is and how toxic and fake Aoi's form of affection for him was. So happy about the way the top handled things in the end. Happy for their happiness.
