I felt like the first and last chapters were the only ones I responded to (esp the last).

Well, it managed to strongly hold my attention all the way through. When u read this kind of thing it’s not about happy feels or liking what happens (you want that read a different genre). It’s more about how much the story draws you in (either positively or negatively), how much the story affects you and how much the story sticks in your mind after reading (I tend to think if you don’t remember the story in a week, it mustn't have been very good). Though tragic and a little traumatising this one shot managed to meet all three of the categories above.

It paints a very sad and pathetic scene of a blind father who searching for his daughter getting pulled into a brothel and, unknown to him or the prostitute (at first), gets put with his now grown daughter.

All 3 characters seem to have very low levels of self worth and are therefore always causing themselves and each other pain (4 ). ️2–I didn’t like the second, one shot story though - on its own I would have rated it a lot lower (1 ) ️ ️1–One of the twins, Hisakuni, is blind in one eye, which Kanata has always blamed himself for.
