The pacing of the character development of Rui is natural and I don't mind at all, most of the mangas written by this author don't just follow the cliche yaoi ending, it concentrates upon a particular character as a whole.

The doctor is a lucky bastard but anyways, the doctor is a hopeless furry lover who's also clueless about his loneliness and feelings while Iruma is a cute tsundere who yearns for love. Basically two idiots failing to confess properly.

I love innocent and sincere characters and I really adore Mirai, it's true he's not realistic and he's used as a tool so his boyfriend protects him after understanding him.
