list - masterlist, unique 120+ season 1 is one of my absolute favorites, but season 2 was a lot more messy/incohesive and I barely have any interest to read season 3 at all. It really fell off so I have to take it off my favorites list, but it's still a good read. Season 1 can be a stand alone honestly and an excellent work if it was. Shin and Wolfgang's adult relationship was a lot different and more frustrating than I thought it would be, and not for the right reasons. I thought we'd go into what was hinted at the end of season 1, the curse of power on the royal bloodline and Wolfgang struggling with that and the want to own and control or with tyrant tendencies, but he's remained a good egg (the best!). Instead the drama stemmed from Shin overworking and overthinking as always, and while I do understand him and defended him, it was just so drawn out and overcomplicated for no reason. I wanted to see more of the romantic side and them reciprocating each other's feelings, but Shin is still too reserved/tsundere that it's not satisfying. He was a lot more honest and forward as a child. Then what seems like the entire drama of season 2 is solved so conveniently in season 3 by....magic... like literally created a magic baby out of thin air to be the heir. Very unserious and unraveled a lot of the depth of groundwork of season 1. The magic/fantasy element was there a little in season 1 and served to add a little interest, but the more they delved into the magic/fantasy aspect without really a clear framework, the more convoluted and nonsensical the story became. list - masterlist, 9.5+ hand holding, hugs and kisses This was so good! Always love this author and their art is gorgeous and characters interesting and with depth. They fall in love kind of quickly (reading back I just realized love declarations were being made after knowing each other for like a wee??) and things were rough between them at the start but their love really is so beautiful and you can really feel it. Lovely and sad depth of backstory of the uke's past, which helped shape and explain his current personality. Seme also becomes more than a robotic nice guy. Love the dynamic, a bit like a brat and brat tamer or spoiled and caretaker. Seme is a really good guy, the perfect gentleman and endlessly kind and patient. Uke is more dynamic, tsundere type where he is cranky, brash, flirty, seductive, and acts like he doesn't take things seriously but is really keeping people at a distance to protect his own heart. He is also insecure in relationships bc he feels like he doesn't deserve love or shouldn't have love bc of his past and resemblance to his mother. But though he acts like he doesn't care, he's a good guy and has a lot of love. I love how assured in himself he is in other aspects though, confident and fashionable and expressive. Their falling in love was quite nice and you could see why they do love each other and what aspects made them fall in love. It's a good balance and dynamic, where even their strengths like being kind to everyone can become a problem. They work through these issues and have a good foundation and understanding of each other by the start of their relationship, though things will still be up and down as it is in real life.
