The Art of Taming A Tiger
list - 9.5+ 100+ 78: The relationship developed quite suddenly from what was building up as a friendship, but it also felt very natural. Very affectionate couple that is quite cute. Tough straightforward uke with a sweet protective seme. Interesting overarching lore about the characters and their backgrounds and how they are all connected, but also some interesting short ghost busting adventures. Good world building and mix of drama and humor. Felt like it was missing a tad bit of nuance, but overall very interesting read.

This was really good! Heavy plot set in a zombie like apocalypse setting. Seme is the rough survivor type, grew up a child soldier and traumatized by the world. Uke is at first the quiet type that gets bullied at school and thinks he’s useless, but he has an odd detachment and way of thinking that lacks empathy and resembles a psychopath. The caller and core dynamic reminds me of espers and guides, tho no one’s core is really explored much besides Sak’s and even that is surrounded with mystery. I like the dynamic in the beginning with Sak immediately trusting Lima bc he believes Lima is his caller, and Lima wary but takes off guard by Sak’s devotion. It was nice to see Lima’s walls come down, but also they kind of jumped into devoted lovers pretty quickly. It was that heartbreaking us against the world and I’d sacrifice myself for you kind of love from both sides. The story and plot was interesting, though I think it didn’t do a great job of explaining things. Things were mysterious at first, but even as we learn more and piece things together, a lot is still unclear and not really explained by the end. The vision was there but the details and storytelling needed to be hammered out a bit more. Interesting concept though! And beautiful art. Liked the main characters and the us against the world vibe. I wish there was a sequel or something to delve more into the world and the side characters which were interesting but just kind of there with no explanation. Really enjoyed this story and wish I could read more of them. Hope they’re happy forever and at peace.
