Murderer Llewellyn's enchanting dinner invitation
Synopsis: Shavonne (MC) is a writer who is struggling with his income, his love life and now a stalker. Amidst a series of murders, he meets Lewellyn (ML), an enigmatic man who courts him for seemingly no reason. Of course, Lewellyn turns out to be both the stalker and serial killer, but there's still yet another layer of mystery surrounding him: what is his connection to Shavonne? Review: I enjoy characters like Lewellyn, who has both a mature side and a cute puppy-like side. He's the type of love interest who is an upstanding gentleman to our main character, so I think we readers can overlook his murderous tendencies. Shavonne is also a great protagonist, since he is mature and easy to sympathise with as an everyday poor man saddled with an eccentric suitor. Plus, the storyline surrounding the mystery of Shavonne and Lewellyn's relationship is intriguing, so I highly recommend this manhwa for fans of serial killer romances.
Candy Man
Synopsis: Yorong, the popular female player, is actually a serial catfish named Kim Kyuyeon (MC). Having targeted a newb named Yummin, Kyuyeon realises too late that the Yummin in real life is Yum Kimin (ML), who is handsome, rich and popular. Kyuyeon gets desperate to dump him, but Kimin is even more desperate to meet Yorong in real life. Review: This manhwa can be split into two storylines, the first being focused on Kyuyeon's struggles to keep his identity concealed and the second being more slice-of-life. Kimin is hopelessly smitten with Yorong no matter what, but he also becomes very toxic in the face of any threat of their relationship. His behaviour may be easier to stomach since this manhwa is a romantic comedy. Kyuyeon is a dumb protagonist who's easily caught up in Kyuyeon's pace, but you can feel less sorry for him if you remember that he's a serial catfish. Otherwise, this manhwa is very cute.
Marigold Dilemma
Synopsis: Seo Yi-sol (MC) stalks his celebrity crush, Kwon Ga-eul (ML). They unexpectedly become step-brothers; then, even more unexpectedly, Ga-Eul confesses to Yi-sol, who turns him down, so Ga-eul begins bringing men who look like Yi-sol home to bed. Yi-sol's resolve breaks when he gets drunk one night, and soon he discovers that Ga-eul is as abnormal as he is. Review: Personally, there's not enough build-up for the moment MC gives in to ML; alcohol is such a cheap trope. On the other hand, the build-up to the twist is pretty good. At least they match each other's freaks, hey?
