How goddamn refreshing it is to have a royal familial relationship where there is literally NO thoughts of jealousy or wanting to usurp. FANTASTIC BRO. And LUXIOS. Bro is literally the best emperor I have ever read. Like the epitome of an emperor. Cares for his people genuinely, soft when needed, hard when needed, places the well playing of his country and people above all else, and EVEN PROPERLY MANAGED HIS CONCUBINES?! Mans is fucking perfect. The wives were able to get along so well in part to his efforts of being completely fair in his treatment of them. Like bro. I really was sad for a while bcuz I thought there was no possible way for them to get together. Like I was sad for lux, being an emperor is kinda shit, but I understood that there really wasn't a foreseeable future for them romantically. Mans did everything right really, respected his knight, didn't push his feelings onto her when realizing she literally did not see him as a man or anything other than her leige that she was entirely loyal to, but still upheld his duties as an emperor while being heartbroken with wives & successor. But it was so well written everything really was able to come full circle. & everything is so fucking real bro. Like her detachment from her baby and hatred for the situation was so real. Why wouldn't she be pissed? When everything she worked so hard for was on the chopping block? Just because she was a woman and happened to get pregnant. Also loved her relationship with Rebecca (fly high queen) Rebecca was amazing because she was able to get through to Pol and make Pol start thinking about others circumstances. Other women's circumstances. While she never forgot that she was a woman and that she had to work and fight so hard to overcome the associated obstacles, it's true that she had no real idea of what being a woman at that time actually meant. While everything was difficult for her it was also in a way incredibly simple. Her thinking had changed out of necessity for survival, so when she would hear other women lamenting on why they couldn't do things she'd just be like, why not? Just do it. And while that is a great sentiment, most women weren't afforded the liberty to even try to think that way. God damn this is just so fucking well written
