Boys Next Door
Tragedy and psychological A sad, twisted and dark story that will break your heart. There is no happy ending, but there is some peace and a tiny sliver of hope you can find.
Natsumichi Drive
Youngest of four brothers who are all the smart nerdy type, 18yo Michiharu only receives disdain for his failing grades. Determined to have him improve, his parents send him to be tutored by his cousin Natsuki in Hiroshima during summer break. Their story was surprisingly romantic, given Natsuki’s reputation (according to his little sister) and first impressions. Little moments of hand holding and fingers linking, sweet words of support and encouragement. I loved the confession scene and really thought that the story had a fluffy, feel good vibe overall.
A Nonsense Relationship
Home room teacher, YoungJin Han has fallen for a fellow teacher HoYeon Jung, who isn’t interested in him in that way. Drowning his sorrows, he falls in with a handsome older guy, Sanghyun for a one night stand only to have an awkward meeting with him as the parent of a troubled student. While trying to dodge the determined pursuit of his handsome one night stand, YoungJin finds himself ‘saved’ by his ex, JiKook Park. As if he isn’t popular enough, while YoungJin is trying to avoid being seen by the waiting JiKook and Sanghyun, he is approached by a young college student who has fallen for him, Junwoo. That’s the messy setting for this story. Who will the popular Mr. Han choose? The gentle and patient (mostly) Junwoo? The strangely insisting and familiar ex, JiKook? Or the debonair and good looking one night stand, Sanghyun? It’s a good romp of a story with all these characters and the potential for romance for more than Mr. Han. My favourite won the affections of the much sought after uke, so I am more than happy with the story.
Sensei Datteyarashii Koto Shitai
25yo playboy Ren, has given up on his career as a musician in order to take up the responsibility of teaching at his family’s kindergarten. The adjustment is made easier by the presence of fellow teacher, the earnestly serious and attractive Kiichi-kun, although the two got off to an awkward start. This cute story is full of sweet moments. I liked the dad, he was obviously someone Ren rebelled from but he was surprisingly understanding and accepting of his son. Lovely art too, this was a great little yaoi.
Brother Complex Onii-san, Kocchi Muite
It’s in the title, so don’t be surprised by the brother complex that Haruhisa has for the little brother he has pretty much raised from birth. But now that little brother has fallen for a guy from his sophomore class and Haruhisa turns to Yuki’s home room teacher Mitsuhara, for help. When Mitsuhara unexpectedly kisses him, Haruhisa’s world really tilts on its axis.
