Sleeps In Sunbeams's manga / #slice of life(370)

I love stories with a little angst of friends to lovers and all the new feelings that can be overwhelming. These stories all had that element of looking at someone in a new way and were full of cute couples. I loved the first pair the most. They were adorable and the whole carrying “princess style” was a seriously cute moment.

Only problem was that the characters from the different stories, especially the uke, looked so similar that it was hard to initially differentiate the stories from each other. Most of the stories were sweet.

Beautiful characters and a very emotional story (Nakahara's home life is very traumatic, full of neglect and physical, emotional and verbal abuse). The title really suits Nakahara and his love for Yuki.

While the 1st couple were my favourite, I loved the interconnectedness of all of them. This was such a sweet friends to lovers story, well worth a re read.

Plenty of bittersweet moments in this story. With lonliness and missed opportunities, the demands of life and family, this couple were finally both able to love each other and hold onto the closeness they always came so close to having.

Such talent to create these 2 beautiful guys and bring them to life with this gently unfolding story. Unlike many stories where you get 2 dimensional characters, this author gets you involved by making these more mature adults have life experiences and a past that shapes them and how they interact together. Sensei is a pediatrician with an ailing grandfather and a medical practice to inherit. The candy store owner appears laid back and unconventional, but he is not all fluff; rather he bought and owns his own store and cares for a child not biologically his. I think that was one of the nice aspects of this book, the layers to the characters and their chemistry. The other was the art. Super sexy long and lean bodies, blushes, quirks of lips hinting at a private joke, even the way they stand and walk. So much to appreciate from this talented author.

I loved this gentle seme with a possessive streak. Jun and Toshiyuki were a lovely romantic couple who seemed to genuinely appreciate each other and communicate well. A beautiful story.

Brilliant, hot, sexy story with two lonely souls falling for each other. I liked these guys a lot and only wish there was more. On a side note, I liked that the seme made the uke report the attempted rape to a teacher. Too often this just seems to be ignored in yaoi which just seems stupid,

A nice story. Seme was 3 years older than his childhood friend and neighbour and felt more than brotherly towards the uke when uke was in middle school. Not wanting his younger friend to be disgusted, seme distanced himself and became a playboy. Until one night his drunken confession had the uke intrigued and the seme running away again.

A real slice of life with interconnected characters and a couple of romances. Worth a read.
