Sleeps In Sunbeams's manga / #rape(96)

I tried to read them because some sounded like they would be interesting but they were all about falling for rapists and pedos. Never skimmed so much content so fast in the hopes of one redeeming story. Epic letdown

An interesting bunch of stories

A varied collection of one shots, most worth a read. Wasn’t fond of the rape scene, nor that characters proclivity for hunting for people to mess with. At least the uke kicked him out for a while..so many in yaoi are very accepting of a partner who seeks their own sexual gratification via force, drugs and non consensual means.

Not this mangakas best stories. There weren’t many likeable characters in the whole lot, but the first pair were the absolute worst (the pedo and the rapist). The decaying body was disturbing. Necrophilia is so NOT a turn on. No stand out story I would re read, this one goes in the “never again” file.

A mixed bag where some stories were best left unchosen and others were fun to read.

Such a sad existence for the uke here. I liked the story simply because he found someone warm and caring. I didn’t like how the brother had sex with him so soon, but at least they talked and fought their way to a better relationship

Surprisingly I enjoyed this manga, despite the rape in the beginning. As the story unfolds and the supernatural elements come to light, the mangaka reveals why the seme used force and such obsessive means to bind the uke into a relationship with him. Also, by that time, the seme had ample opportunity to show his more common traits of caring, love and support to win the heart of the one he loves.

Ugh... I never like to bomb a manga because I know the mangaka put such effort into it. However, there was nothing to like about the MCs. The seme was an abusive, rapist, son of a bitch. He wanted to hurt the uke, not as a part of a consensual S&M relationship, but to be noticed by him. What a selfish mofo.. I often love an obsessed seme, even a crazy one can be fun, as long as they value and protect their loved one. But this guy was simply loathesome. I kept reading hoping for something redeeming, like some payback. But no. The uke loved his abuser, was willing to be the lover even if the seme married the nice fiancé that the uke had met and liked. He was willing to give up his self respect just to stay with the seme. If there is one thing I hate in a manga as much as an abusive, rapist seme, it’s a doormat of a uke. And again, it’s not even like he had a humiliation kink or a masochistic need to be belittled and manipulated. Even with that stuff it needs to be consensual with after care. He was just willing to overlook everything because he ‘loved’ the seme. Awful. And I read it all, hoping desperately for some redeeming element. Epic fail for me.

The first story with Uncle and Reo will mess with your head a bit. It had some disturbing moments where Reo was being sexually abused but not in the way you would expect. It’s hard to explain without horribly spoiling the plot, but I actually enjoyed the story. It was well written and dark and surprising. The second story was cute, with the reunion between high school couple after a few years and a growth spurt. Much lighter than the first story, this one was sweet and the seme was a really kind and considerate partner.

This was a dedicated smut story with no boundaries in the erotica delivered by the mangaka. There is voyeurism, dubious consent and forced sex, nipple play, cross dressing, size differences, uncensoring, and all nature of perverted seme’s dominating their lovers. If you are after a hot story that mixes the erotic with a dash of romance then you will love this.
